- (21 Aug 1952) Tragedy - sudden and appalling - descends upon the little seaside resort of Lynmouth. The havoc caused by the gentle streams, now raging torrents, transformed the village almost beyond recognition. Some eye-witnesses give account of the night of horror. Help came quickly, of course, as soon as the tragedy was known, and the ceaseless efforts of people from the local town of Lynton were supplemented by the Army, the Red Cross and WVS.

CORRECT, AND NOT THE FIRST TIME THEY TRIED IT---OR THE LAST ?? HOW ABOUT BOSCASTLE CORNWALL, ABOUT 7 YRS AGO. TWIN RIVER'S OVERFLOWING WITHOUT FORECAST OF HEAVY RAIN ? AT LEAST, NO DEATHS.

I read a great book about this disaster, written by a local hero shortly after the event. A young Police constable, who with great risk to himself, managed to raise the alarm when he realised how dangerous the swollen river's were becoming , and the obvious threat to the town far below. One account described the horrendous noise of huge boulder's the size of houses that were thundering down the hillsides , demolishing cottages as they roared past, taking huge full-grown trees with them down the massively swollen river's, and pushing mountains of mud with it.

@@TimHollingworth Now they want to make history vanish. Anything that tells the truth is disappearing these days. Even history.
Well since they are still pushing the climate change agenda, I guess we should not be to surprised. For future reference, if you can download anything and re-post at another video site. That is what we must do to save it from termination.
They are killing off everything these days. They have even made entire social media platforms vanish like parler. I never used it, but Amazon, Google an Apple had a whole lot of nerve to pull that one. Sickening.
I have downloaded a lot of stuff over the years. A while back I even copied an entire web site and saved it. Now I am kicking my ass, I didn't save the one about the flood.
These days even main stream news sites are either editing videos or changing the entire video they used. I noticed that one quite a while back. WHO is changing their site a lot too.
They were caught doing that one by a few people. Thanks for the heads up. They will be making anything the criticizes 5G vanish too. They need 5G for mass surveillance, among other things.

What do you suppose is the state of the art today?
I feel so much for the boatman, gosh poor chap. My gran was killed there but in 1932, 20 years earlier by a lorry running over her
RAF cloud seeding to create the intense rain and flooding is hardly 'nature's cruelty' 😢

They do it 24/ 7... so the question is: When will it stopped?
The answer is: Nobody can stop this crime. Only god 🙏
