You got that double shiny BECAUSE of your Magikarp! As it turns out, having a shiny Magikarp increases your odds of finding shinies in both Food Frenzy AND the Lost Luvdisc events.
OH and if you tap a shiny durning food frenzy, it will drop a ton of food!

Let me tell you the story of Karp Karp, it started when majikarp jump first came out, I got a shiny magikarp and then later it asked me if I wanted Karpkarp to get a fruit off the tree, the worst mistake I've ever made, a pidgeot took it away and I never saw it again😔, prayers to karpkarp

I remember when this game first came out I fished a shiny Magikarp extremely early on, it then got snatched by a Pidgeotto approximately 15 minutes later

I loved this game but once I got to the point where a new Karp only got me one battle further each time I had to give it up. It was constant grinding through the league, skipping every battle until I eventually got to where I left off, only to either lose it again and restart or just scrape by and lose the next one.

I had fun with this game for a bit, though I'm pretty sure I stopped after I lost my shiny magikarp. I named it after my shiny gyarados, karl. And I get really attached to my pokemon so I just kinda couldn't be bothered to deal with a constant chain of losing magikarps, some losses more gruesome than others. poor jim, he was too pure to be eaten by that pidgeotto.
The shiny odds are surprisingly high, if you ever decide to try again.
At least he performed his duty and gave a Pidgeotto some food

I got a shiny Magikarp too, I forgot what I named him but I liked to panper him. He had to retire and nothing bad happened to him. Either that, or a Pidgey got him. I don't remember if it was Red and White Belly or Shiny-

Huh. Surprised there is no karp pond in Arceus or a main series game that lets you transfer these karp and companion pokemon over. With the unique patterns and matching gyrados of course (as well as being a place to farm standard Corsola)
I used to play this game a lot too when it came out, was on a vacation trip and the place didn't really have wifi, so this did come in handy, was actually quite a fun game for what it was.
I remember once getting a golden Magikarp with a 600% coin bonus, and I actively avoided feeding and training it for *weeks* just to save up.
Eventually, I had over 1 billion coins, and I was ready to allow little Midas to max out his level, and move on to the back tank. I still regret that decision, as I could have gone further and found the coin limit with enough patience.

Magikarp is based off of koi (and a bit of catfish), so I loved how they based the variants off of actual real life koi variants
They're just based off of koi LOL. Koi have whiskers as well.
it's also based on carps, koi are a domesticated bred carp bred for it's patterns

When I was 6 years old I downloaded this game the day it came out and I was very excited, so I caught a calico magikarp then named it after my calico cat named Treasure! Then the magikarp got killed by a bird and I deleted the app and cried lmao

I went and got this game when I saw this video instantly and played it for about a month straight. No regrets, would happily suffer endlessly in an idle game about which weakest fish pokemon jumps higher again
unironically my favorite pokemon game, and the inspiration for magikarp being my favorite pokemon. I got really into the speedrun and found so many small tricks that make the game really satisfying to play. Like the 2 berry method that lets you get lots of JP fast.
Magikarp Jump was the best thing ever when it came out in my opinion. Haven't played it in a long time. I miss it now that I think about it smh

I remember when I was around 9 or 10 first playing this game and getting a shiny magikarp and I was so excited. Instead of using though, I evolved it into gyarados and it was “forced to retire”. I was upset when I couldn’t keep it, but I kept the memories

The only thing i remember of this game is that when you click the TV a few times a "secret" event happens with a weird ghost girl that almost no one seems to talk about .-.

I loved Magikarp Jump, but the grind gets awful at the end. So awful that even though I was nearly done with the game I bought the drill just so it could go quicker. And then I beat the game. And it was good. It still sits on my phone, I still haven't got all the patterns though.
