      @@Dhess I do, its a '23 DCLB. I was hesitant to take the truck on the beach last summer due to it not having the MTS and crawl control. Seems like these are more than capable of handling the sand if driven properly with the right settings.

      @@iamshevanel Yes once I got the settings down I was very happy with the performance on the beach. I’ve talked to a ton of people on the beach with these trucks and they have no idea what i’m talking about when I tell them how to change the traction control settings lol

    Nice content Dhess! Best 4WD (sand) tutorial out there. Might I suggest a series on other tough spots? I haven’t turned off my stability control or traction control in any of my situations yet, but man that makes a lot of sense!

      Glad I could help clear some things up for you! once you have these settings on the gear choice is going to be your next decision depending on the terrain

    Just air down to 15 psi or less. I forgot to put my truck in 4wd and never noticed until I had to turn sharply. It has happened several times. My first mod was taking my onboard air compressor out of my old truck and putting it in the new one in the parking lot at the dealership. I got rid of my home compressor because it was heavy and not easy to move. The ARB compressor has never failed me when others have a short duty cycle and shut down or get hot enough to melt wits and hoses. I air up and down 2 tires at a time. I am setup for 4 at a time but it is not
    easy alone.

      Yea that’s another option. Where did u mount it? I was looking at possibly mounting one in the side of the bed?

    4 high is the best for sand. Just drove a 2003 tacoma 4x4 double cab for 19 years never no problems then I wrecked it. Just bought a 2021 4x4 tacoma sport haven't got to try it out yet.

    • @Dhess

      same as mine and yea I usually use 4 high

    Does this work with all trucks that aren't top of the line off-road oriented? Like Nissan with their pro-4x? I want to get a truck for camping and maybe get into overlanding but don't know if I need the top trim or mid-grade is fine for pricing

    • @Dhess
      @Dhess  Před 11 měsíci +1

      so my truck doesn’t have as good of off-road capability as the trd off-road or trd pro these are more basic settings that most trucks with 4 wheel drive will have

      I don’t feel like it’s that bad if you know how to turn it off all the way bc most people don’t off-road more than regular street driving
