Its the problem having 3 top/near world class players in that position. You're never going to keep them all happy and be forced to make the team weaker by playing them out of position or in a formation you don't want. One had to go - Rooney could've worked in midfield as he did later on but he would've disrupted the balance and cause the same problem there.
