I was searching for IH trucks. My Dad was a salesman with IH for 55 years. He was in the Million Dollar Club in sales for many years. He "retired" but really didn't because he couldn't stand staying home and continued on when it changed to Navistar. He's long since passed. Makes me smile and cry when I see this. Sure is great to see them kept up so well.
I learned to drive big truck back in 1972 . that is the first truck i learned to drive . it had a 318 detroit diesel in it with a 13 speed trans. bought my first truck in 1981 a cabover transtar blue and white paint 13 speed trans with a 400 commings jake brake stretch frame chrome rims high back seats nice int . drove a lot of other kinds of trucks .45 years otr driver .im now retaired 2 and a half years and after all the different trucks i drove all those years that cabover transtar is still my nunmber 1 truck.your a lucky man to own that truck and trailer thank you for sharing.
Those have got to be about the nicest restored classic trucks out there, I like how the owner doesn't indulge in the full rear fender nonsense, they're not necessary and nothing but a pain in the butt, where maintenance is concerned
Besides restoring them do they have new engines or has there been modified parts. I drove an eagle years ago and it looks almost like the pulling truck, it had a 350 Cummins in it. They look awesome.
I'll take a 192"wb Transtar 2 Eagle 350 Bc with 400 injectors and turbo. 13 speed 370 rears 11R22.5 on Alcoas factory silver white and burgundy paint with maching interior dual 120 gal PA fuel tanks And a 65 gal wet line behind the cab.
