Proponents of two-state solution must 'explain to Israel' how Palestinian state will ensure security

  • The announcement by Ireland, Spain and Norway on the recognition of a Palestinian state is perceived by Israel as a major blow. Nomi Bar-Yaacov, international negotiator and Senior Research Fellow in the International Law Programme at Chatham House tells FRANCE 24's Mark Owen that the key missing element from their respective speeches in recognition of the Palestinian state is explaining to Israel how the existence of a Palestinian state will make Israel more secure.

Their security is important but it cannot come at the expense of the perpetual oppression of Palestinians. Period. Congratulations to these European countries. What your outlet needs to remember is that the Law Based World Order has not yet been replaced by the "Rules Based World Order".
International Law says that as an illegally occupied place the people of Gaza and Palestine have a right to armed resistance.
The occupiers have duties of care towards the occupied people which is not met by bombing and starving women and children. This is not self defense.
Genocide is not excused because your religious texts say it is. Humanity and civilisation are more important than organised religion.

Okay, now, we have to understand; we are talking about a country -- Israel -- that regularly thumbs its nose at international law. That because it has America under its thumb, treats the rest of the world's expectations with disgust. Why should any country trust a nation's goodwill that keeps still another people's land? This Israeli leadership is trying to ethnically cleanse Gaza! It's obvious what their long term intent is. It's not a two state solution! There is absolutely no reason, for any nation to delay giving the Palestinian nationality what it rightly deserves, recognition of their own state!
