You're a brave man wrapping your own car. There are concerns about removing it damaging paint, and also want to have the vinyl protect--which is usually a feature for PPF. Enter PPF+vinyl...companies such as STEK can allow you for a color change AND protection.
I feel wrapping it makes it a problem for off-roading. I'm buying new so will probably treat it with TLC and keep things stock for he first couple of years and then consider this for down the road....when the real fun begins.

Great points. The wrap actually saved my vehicle from so many pin strips. I’ve since removed my wrap and unfortunately picked up a few pin strips last month :( . I just hate having to rewrap my vehicle when it’s so modded up. Taking everything off to rewrap is a pain

I’d just redo the hood. Also would a different brand of wrap or either one w/ a different finish other than satin last longer?

3m seems to be a good brand to start with. I think my main issue is that I’m parked out in the sun all day. If I had a garage I’m sure it would last at least 3 years. Also being black doesn’t help, our wasabi green satin bmw was much easier to take off after 2yrs.

@@OtzleeExplains I've heard from some dealers about 3m removing being a problem...but keep in mind the vinyl tech is rapidly changing...they may have it rectified.
How you store your car makes ALL the difference on the lifespan of your wrap.
I've also heard of a specific ceramic coat that is specific to vinyl that will help.
