0:28 I refuse to believe this.
my friend taught me that the sides were split in the middle and each side looked like ••• and ••• with three more dots on top of them

All of your examples showed you playing in a counter-clockwise direction, but your initial instructions said to play in a clockwise direction. Please correct the video.

Please watch it again. The examples are definitely clockwise…

@@HowToFunandGames Then you're doing it completely wrong. Game play is always counterclockwise.
0:24 Player 1 on the bottom, Player 2 on the top.
0:34 Player 1's mancala on the right, Player 2's mancala on the left.
      Thus game play is counter-clockwise.
0:46 Contradictory information is presented where gameplay is now clockwise.
1:01 Contradictory information is reinforced with the first example.
1:40 Correct information is presented where player 1 is now playing counter clockwise, landing in his own mancala with his final stone and receiving another turn. Where Player 1's mancala was previously on the right, then the left, now it is back on the right.
1:48 Contradictory information is again presented where Player 1 is now playing clockwise.
1:59 Correct information is presented where player 2 gets to move all his remaining stones counterclockwise into his mancala.

@LtGrandpoobah there is no contradiction in this video. It’s always clockwise. When player 1 ended in landed in the empty pocket, that was after going around the entire board clockwise. As stated in the beginning of the video, there are many ways to play this game, but this is my favorite variation.
