Felix. I didn’t make the microphone but I will explain it. The microphone is so long so it can have an “interference tube” which allows the microphone to be more directional, meaning it’s going to pick up more directly from the front. That’s what’s called a shotgun microphone and typically they are used to mic actors on a movie from a distance from overhead or below the frame, out of the shot. Hope that helps.

That mic isn't for recording voice Felix. It's a shotgun mic, which means it's extremely directional: It captures everything in front of it in a sharp point, but if you move slightly off-center it will sound really bad because it will mostly capture the room. You're better off going for a cardioid mic.

He just needs to get a standard Cardioid pickup mic for classic studio recording. AKG 214 for example is industry standard. Shotgun mics are still fine for recording voice but definitely not indoors in that way.
