I Spent 4-Months Testing Vertical Ergonomic Mice - Here's My Top 5

  • So the question is: Do you spend $30 or $125 on a vertical ergonomic mouse? Does it matter? Will the cheaper one be better or worse? I’ve tested 12 of the most popular vertical ergonomic mice and I’ve got 5 that are worth getting.
Here are the Top 5 along with the Amazon affiliate links:
Logitech MX Vertical Advanced - mreh.ca/3TxdjZG
    Logitech Lift Vertical - mreh.ca/3vq6cds
Kensing Vertical Ergonomic Mouse - mreh.ca/4arQ7CK
    ProtoArc EM11 Wireless Ergonomic Mouse - mreh.ca/49nShTj
DELUX Rechargeable Wireless Mouse* - mreh.ca/3TuCtbd OR Perixx PERIMICE-819B Bluetooth Portable Vertical Mouse - mreh.ca/3TmDDp2
*I wasn’t able to find this mouse on Amazon.com
For our ranking, I weigh the scores across a multitude of different criteria (15 for vertical ergonomic mice) and wrist pain relief accounts for 35% of the score. If all you care about is wrist relief consider getting the Evoluent Vertical Mouse D. The hand angle is almost 90 degrees so there is no twisting of your forearm at all. Be warned though, it’s the most expensive mouse I’ve tested.
See how much the Evoluent Vertical Mouse D is on Amazon:
    Best iPad Stylus of 2024:
    Best USB-C Hubs
    #reviewernotinfluencer #tech #mobilereviewseh
    #1 Logitech MX Vertical Advanced - mreh.ca/3TxdjZG
-Top choice for its synergy of build and software.
-Boasts a 57-degree angle and a soft rubber grip suitable for larger hands.
-Customizable buttons and scroll wheel via Logi+ on Mac/Windows.
-Charges internally and connects to three devices, missing dongle storage.
-Priced higher but fails on glass surfaces.
-Thumb button customization on Mac with Logi+ is exceptional.
-Solid build, easy handling, and multi-device workflow efficiency.
#2 Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse - mreh.ca/3vq6cds
-A compact pick, unexpectedly effective, ideal for travel.
-Excels with 57-degree lift, textured grip, and versatile Logi+ Options for Mac.
-Includes 4 silent-click buttons, speed-adjusting scroll wheel, and AA battery life with dongle storage.
-Compatible with most surfaces, offering a wide DPI range.
-At $75, it balances cost with superior features.
    #3 Kensington Vertical Ergonomic Mouse/Pro Fit Ergo - mreh.ca/4arQ7CK
-Standout for its value, surpassing the Pro version in function and cost.
-A more familiar 47-degree angle, with supportive C-grip and pinky rest.
-Standard model offers up to 2400 DPI, with a soft matte finish.
-Kensington software customizes the Pro’s buttons but skips the standard.
-Both powered by AA batteries, non-silent clicks, and no glass surface functionality.
-Questions the Pro's extra cost given the standard's comparable features.
    #4 ProtoArc EM11 Ergonomic Mouse - mreh.ca/49nShTj
-Notable "oven mitt" shape with customizable LED flair.
-Three DPI levels, silent main clicks, textured grip.
-Long battery life, multi-connection sans USB-C.
-Fixed scroll speed and potential wrist repositioning awkwardness.
-Mac thumb buttons need third-party software.
-Visually striking with practical multi-device use.
    #5 Delux Rechargeable Wireless Mouse - mreh.ca/3TuCtbd
-57-degree hand position, smooth body with fixed LED colors.
-Silent clicks, four buttons, with distinct thumb placement.
-Limited internal battery capacity, easy dongle access.
-Lacks on glass surfaces, with a consistent scroll speed.
-LED aesthetic adds vibrancy to the white variant.

Absolutely loved this video and wish you came out sooner. I had to do a lot of research on my own 4 months ago when I needed to replace my mouse, and came to the same top choice with the Logitech vertical. I love the dang thing and it can take a drop or in my case several off my desk. Keep up the great content!

Great video, I love that you mentioned the inclination angle, sometimes it's hard to find. I have an Evoluent D and I love the inclination and the middle button to close tabs, but it's heavy, so I'm gonna try the Logitech Lift next to switch it up from time to time.

Great information again buddy been enjoying your reviews!
Woah I just bought one last week! I was contemplating in getting the Logitech MX Vertical, but in the end went for a UGREEN Vertical Ergonomic 4000DPI. I didn’t want to pay something more expensive without trying it for long usage plus i wanted to test if my wrist would prefer it to my Magic Mouse which died on me!
Got to say I am liking it now even from the get go of usage as it feels at easy using git for long hours. My wrist loves me more these days hahaha 😂

I understand the subject of the video was specific to vertical mice; however, if you have wrist and shoulder repetitive stress injuries I’d recommend switching from a mouse where you move your arm to ‘trackball’ mouse - MX Ergo by Logitech is the one I’ve found work the best for me but as with switching to a ergonomic keyboard with thumb clusters (kinesis advantage 360 or a custom Crone are the ones I always recommend) the key comes down to optimizing for thumb-use over wrist / arm movement! Also typically as your thumbs are meant for a larger portion of fine-motor movements it’s less strain pretty much right away.
Overall great video and review process and if you are a knowledge worker that spends the bulk of your time on a computer it is totally worth investing in an ergonomic setup for yourself. The time and energy you put in today to reducing as much of the repetitive stress on your body will pay for itself very quickly in my experience.

I bought the Lift and MX a while back after breaking a ligament on my wrist and spending months in pain using a trackpad. Ended keeping the Lift, which I still used today. The MX was more comfortable, but its size is more difficult to take it outside. Furthermore, for the price difference, I decided to keep the Lift. The wrist healed after surgery, however, I still use the Lift, and now prefer it over any other regular mouse or trackpad.

Avoid white Logitech products as they seem to discolor and wear off quickly. Mouse discolored within days (chemical reaction, not dirt). Multiple keyboard keys wore off within 18 months. No such issues with the black models, which are great.

    • @cookiebinary
      @cookiebinary Před 18 dny

Interestingly, I've had quite the opposite experience. My last mouse was a Logitech Lift and I can't get enough of it. I even have one Logitech mouse bought in 2012 and it still looks more or less the same (and works the same).
In my opinion, Logitech's higher-end mice are some of the best quality mice on the market.
For keyboards, I prefer brands like Epomaker, Kiiboom, Keychron. Logitech doesn't exactly make the highest quality keyboards.
I still have the Z5500 speakers from Logitech, bought sometime in 2008. I still actively use them and they work almost like new. (Only the display backlighting is not as strong as the new ones).
Which Logitech mouse do you have a problem with?

Something not many people might consider, but I HIGHLY recommend a Wacom tablet in replacement of a mouse. I purchased one of the about 15 years go to use for digital art and and realized it did not aggravate my hand and wrist pain when I used it exclusively in place of a mouse. You hold it just like a pen.

You should test the Contour Unimouse. It's really good, besides the fact that you can't map a middle click to the middle button. It scores high in all of the areas you mentioned as your preferences.
OH, one last thing... The mouse can be both traditional and verticle, so you can adjust the angle to your desired sweet spot. You can also change the thumb grip. How you missed this mouse is amazing.

Have been using the Vertical MX Advanced for a few years now, removes strain from wrist completely, but in my case lead to tension on the ulnar nerve in some way. Now I have something like a Cubital tunnel syndrome, where my pinky and ring finger both go numb and the whole hand hurts in the morning and through the day. Have to do specific ulnar nerve exercises to make it better. The mouse might be too big for me in the end :( also the rubber coating wears off, especially on the buttons in kind of a nasty blotchy way.

  • @guntherabrahamowicz4659

The big issue with the expensive Logitech models is their click switches are cheap shit. Their warranty is for one year, which you should get out of it, but starting somewhere around month 14 -16 you're likely to have your "left click" switch start double-clutching and messing things up. It's a well-documented problem with them and you can try to replace the switch, but it's a lot of little parts moving and de-soldering and soldering is also involved. The switch is around $10, but a good soldering station is around the price of a new mouse.

I used to watch your videos in the past and took a break. I’ve noticed that something has changed in your format. Many of your videos feel like an infomercial. I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe you are talking too fast and cutting to different cameras so quickly. I feel rushed and don’t like the sensation too much. Not sure if others feel this way

Put the video at 0.75x speed, he only sounds slightly drunk. You might like it better. Too bad 0.85x speed isn't an option.

Why would I get something FOR wrist pain? I'd prefer something AGAINST wrist pain please.

Yes! Why would I want a medicine for allergies? I don’t like allergies so I’m patiently waiting for a medicine against allergies to hit the market.

thumbs down for repeatedly saying 'mices'. Mice is the plural of mouse. Stop being annoying.
