Mr Carlson, the big manufacturers should take a look at your videos. With all their millions they don't come close to the professional quality you achieve in your humble home lab. Thanks again. We are all lucky to benefit from your ability and efforts. Can't wait for the next one !
Mr. Carlson, another successful and wonderfully demonstrated troubleshooting system. Keep up the very professional demonstrations.
Paul, as usual, a great video from you. Thanks for posting.
Another fantastic video, Paul! Nicely done as always, and good catch on the cable mix-up.
Watching your videos, I feel like I am being schooled by a master. Thank you for the education!
Thank you Paul, always enjoy your troubleshooting videos.
me again, I could watch you videos all day long.... great instructor...
Thank you for explaining what you are doing. it's like having a guide tour to a country you have never been too!
I see that I am not the only one excited about another new video. Again thanks for your time and efforts taken to provide us all with such quality information.
Great video. Really love the repairs of the newer actual rigs. Outstanding
Kevin
That was fun. Thank you Mr. Carlson.
You are very welcome Donald.
I did see the coax mix-up right when you said something looks wrong here. Most of my component level repair has been digital and it's been many years. Your videos have inspired me to get into fixing radio gear. Thanks for that.
You sir are quite gifted, very refreshing.
Thanks for your kind words orange!
Great video... i really appreciate your gift of logical pursuit.... having been in the radio repair business many years ago... watching many "shotgun repairs"... thanks very much !!!
I respect the way you do repairings mr. Carlson, it's just a perfect job again, congratulations!
Thank You Igor!
the most well explained elettronic video i found here on youtube.it s a pure pleasure watch your video from start to finish.
Thanks Ginger!
I love the channel. I learn something new each and every time I tune in. Glad to see you back.
Once again an excellent informative video! Well done!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great video Paul! You are a superb teacher and I have learned a lot from your efforts. Thank you ! Greetings from Arizona.
Thanks!
Again, clear and knowledgeable video. You have a great teaching style. Thanks again for the effort you put into these.
Nice repair. Just a walk in the park for you. Thanks for the video.
Great bit of fault finding Paul. A pleasure to watch as always
Super logical and precise. Definitely the kind of tech I'd want fixing anything of mine.
Thank you Mr. Carlson.
You are very welcome Donald!
Mr Carlson you make it look soooooo, easy, thank you very much for sharing.
Well done Mr. Carlson, thank you for the lesson.
I truly enjoy you videos. Great learning tool showing hands on troubleshooting.
I am also so respectful of your work ... you make things look so easy ... I hope I can gain knowledge just to look after my own equipment ... my TS940 IS IN GREAT SHAPE ... BUT SLIGHTLY OFF FREQUENCY ON RX &TX ... I will be looking for a video where I will be abl to achieve a standard as good as yours ... Thanks for the videos it gives me a great insight into electronics ... Many Thanks again ... Mike ... M0csi ... Manchester. UK
Great video Mr Carlson thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I am just beginning to set up my work bench. The equipment you have in your lab must've taken a while to acquire. Your videos are fantastic. You clearly explain the steps involved in removal and what to be careful of. You are a gifted individual in both creating the videos as well as electronics diagnostics and repair.
I appreciate your channel. Although radios like this are not in my area of interest, it's very helpful to learn electronic troubleshooting processes. Thanks for doing what you do!
I always used to say the first two things to look for was anything that moves and anything someone has messed with. This video sort of proves that out. Great video , would love to have a lab of his quality.
All I can say is excellent video Mr Carlson! Thanks, Arnold.
I really enjoy your videos! As a FT-1000MP owner myself, I've found these videos even more interesting.
I do not do short wave but your presentation is great! You are a first rate tech! Guitar amps are for me, and I know you video what ever comes to you. Understandable. Keep up the good work! Thankz
Terrific video once again......I learn a bit more each time I watch these.
Amazing LAB this guy has. cool video and great fix
Really enjoy the troubleshooting videos Paul thanks for another one, job well done !!! Lloyd
Another winner Paul...love to watch the troubleshooting. LOL I see old one thumb is still with you...LOL
I've been a Motorola Two-Way Communications dealer/service center since '77. With that said, that FT-1000MP is something which I would not want to contemplate having to perform repairs on. Gimme an old MoTrac, or something ancient from Comco any day!!!
With all of that said, that Yaesu is definitely a nicely constructed piece of equipment, and you've once again accomplished a quality job of troubleshooting and repair.
Another great video, highly enjoyable and informative. Thank you and well done sir.
Thank you for another great video! I'm going to watch the RF active probe video right now!
Glad your enjoying the video's.
Another awesome video, thx Paul.
Love your videos Mr. C. Thanks as always.
Makes it look so simple. well done as usual
Another great job, Paul.
Great video, as usual! I could watch your stuff all day! Keep up the good work! It would be a dream of mine for you to look at my own transceiver and see the repair process. I tried to get it fixed by numerous techs around Regina and nobody could track the problem. Can't wait for your next video! 73
Great video! I really needed a Mr. Carlson's Lab fix! :-)
Another interesting video. It seems one of the hardest parts of working on modern electronics is how to get them apart without making the problem worse. You made that repair look easy.
Thanks Bob!
I like your mix of vintage and (relatively) modern test gear.
Thanks Brian!
Spot on MR C.
Great video as always. I would like to see how you put you RF probe together.
Another well documented repair. I did one of these some time back that had the same problem. The regulators seem to be a week point in this model. Like you I liberally apply heat transfer compound to the heat sink. I believe that may be what's making them go out so frequently, to much heat.
Mike
Thanks Paul. Nice job.
Great video Mr. C and a yes please on the Eico probe.
If Mr Carlson were a Marvel Comic character , electronic repair would be his super power ! Another superlative video !
LOL Thanks! Does this mean I get a cape? :^)
+Mr Carlson's Lab ....No Capes!
LOL!
Good work Mr C
A nice easy fix for you that Paul but only because your a genius love your videos Paul thanks for sharing.
Thanks Paul!
Great lesson and video...Thank You!
A back-to-basics video on probe construction (and the application/use of the various type's of probes) would be very much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing, Paul !
Your welcome Qasim!
Love these videos.
Very Nice video Paul very well explained and great detail. Thanks for that
I don't even know nothing about this stuff but I'm gonna buy this box.... I love tech/ gear
Glad to see a new video. We missed you. I would also like to see the video on the probe.
whoa you blew my mind with picking up the transposed filter coax - I know some shops that would have spent hours on chasing that down.....experience is the great test instrument .
Thanks. I enjoyed this a lot. More please.
Always nice to have the right tools and cables/connectors for the job...those pesky "TMP" coax connectors/jacks are hard to attach to if you want to measure something coming from or inject into a PCB. I added some homebrewed cables with BNCs on one end and the TMP on the other (RG-174 or similar small coax required). You can get the TMPs online and they're very reasonable and easy to solder/crimp onto coax. TNX for another great repair video Paul! 73 - Dino KL0S
You make it look so easy!!
Excellent Video Mr Carlson, Thanks for posting :-)
A new video!! Cool, can't wait to watch.
I used to repair audio amps. This video made me miss being a bench tech and troubleshooting. 73
Nice methodical job, well done.
His thought process is really great and it's accompanied with a great verbal presentation. Who could ask for a better teacher? Not me. :-)
Thanks Guys!
I enjoyed it very much, Paul. Thanks for sharing. Big thumps up. Take care
Thanks Peter!
Nice fix Mr Carlson.
Another great video... Thanks
Great repair and work! I'd be interested in seeing the probe build and a video dedicated to AF/RF/MOD signal probing work.
Great job Carlson!
Very interested in the RF probe build Paul... I hope you do that video... This one was great by the way... as usual...
Great Video .
structured work, nice one.
Well Done Mr. Carlson!
Great vid as always!
Another nice video. Keep up the good work.
I'm pretty sure that you do but I hope you get as much joy from making these videos and working on electronics as I do from watching these videos and working on electronics.
It's simply wonderful to watch you work. 73 NE5U Mike
Thanks for your nice comment Mike!
Another great FT-1000MP video. I guess those 9 volt regulators are a common failure in this model and something every tech working on them should definitely be aware of.
I know little to nothing about electronic repair. I have be watching various videos and even your video which is way over my head it is still interesting. I want to be able to repair my own computer flat screens, tv's and other run of the mill garden variety gadgets.
Great.! Nice Nice detective work Mr. Carlson.
Another classic repair Paul Really enjoyed that. Always fun watching you troubleshoot as you explain what is going on. And another here for going with the active probe. I have an Eico probe just like that hanging in the rack. Would be a nice project for it. Thanks for sharing and a big thumbs up. 73 Buddy
Thanks Buddy! Those old Eico probes are great "project enclosures"
Thanks Paul...
your a very smart guy !!
Love these videos. So Awesome--thanks.
You're Welcome!
Tnx for rep.video Paul, very enjoyable to watch.
It seems that the: "Thy shall always check voltages" is of good use and fine electronicks-mantra. :)
..Didnt see the wrong put internall coaxes at first though.--so perhaps an aditional nice mantra to "Thy shall always check for other misshap-tamperings" too .. --> and you are good at check for these things in your videoes.
Thanks again, apreciate very much.
br,Rolf
Quality Japanese electronics have a beauty to them as unique as their cars. A working piece of art. Too bad someone stuck all those filters on that one. Thanks for another great video.
The front of that thing looks so impressive 😎
nice repair
Thanks!
Sonofagun, Paul, you got lucky again. :-) Excellent vid, my friend. Very well explained. Thanks, lad.
Regards,
John
Thanks John!
Thanks for the beautiful and easy explanation how to proceed step by step in the troubleshooting of the transceiver. One should have at least two of the instrument you used like an oscillator -generator ant the necessary h.f. Probes. You have used too. Thanks very much for the lesson.abele.suisse
Your welcome abele!
Very good job!...Wish I had someone to repair my TS-2000.
Nice job.. I always have trouble finding 7809's... last time I was in my component store the only had 7885 regulators.... 8.5vdc... these things are great... they will work until they start smoking...
Somebody has fitted a Inrad Roofing filter Mod and got the wires crossed and not read the fitting instructions. I have just fitted one to my FT1000MP. great improvement to the imd.
jolly good shew! thx, Don
Thanks Don!
