This was an interesting interview. The question I ponder is this: If the Lemba do NOT carry the genetics of the Ancient Jewish tribes, yet their culture most decidedly narrates a history of being one of the original tribes, how do we bridge those two conflicting facts? What really happened in history? My curiosity is ignited, which is always a good thing! Thank you for sharing.

The JM267 markers scientifically would identify that the Lemba share the same father as other Kohanim (male descendants of Aaron). Did you just miss that part?
The Ashkenazim and Sephardim are only scientifically identified with the MOTHER. That is because the DNA test which identifies the Ashkenazim and Sephardim is only MITOCHONDIRAL DNA. The Ashkenazim share Leah as an Ancestral mother. The Sephardim share Rachel as an Ancestral mother.
Theoretically as in scripture that Judah would lead the return back into Israel in 1948, the Askenazim would make up the descendants of Leah, as Leah was the mother of Judah.
But the torah teaches the genealogies are identified by the father. (Numbers 1:18).
So the Kohanim are the only ones doing it right so far by DNA. Because the Y chromosome proves the Lemba share the same DNA as Ashkenazim and Sephardim Cohen groups. That means they share the same father, do you understand?
What this is here is false information provided by the geneticist in his claims that the Lemba are not genetically Jewish.
It sounds more like the genticist you speak of is the lying spokesperson of the orthodox and conservative congress in Israel that refuses to recognize the Lemba as being Jewish because they have not maternal DNA. By using the same method of Y chromosomal testing, the 12 Jewish tribes can actually be identified.
Scripture is a 100% contradiction to their claim and so is science a gigantic contradiction to their claim. Just because the Lemba married Aftican women does not make them no longer apart of Israel. I really need this geneticist to explain what JM267 markers the Lemba have. I am not Lemba, I am halfway around the world from the Lemba. But, I am passionately connected to these people as if they were family.
