- Hello my friends, Creality was generous to me once again and provided us with the FALCON 2 PRO. This laser cutter/engraver is a really nice machine for home and shop. Yes, I said home because this machine keeps the smoke in the machine and out the duct, a very nice touch along with a camera to easily and accurately position the work without the need of running a frame cycle.

I got a laser carver and used it a couple of times and realized I hate the smoke and have no easy place to vent it. Now I just have to store it. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.

OK I think I like the 'new hotness'. The red plastic cover material is most likely the specific grade of optical shielding to ensure that unit is an 'Eye Safe Laser System'. The earlier one? 'Eye UNSafe Laser System' and quite capable of injuring or permanently blinding an operator or bystander.
Need to make a sign that says [ not a drawer ] and put it in the bottom of the laser bed or any where you dont want stuff put

Will you be making designs for the laser cut flask available open source?
It might be safe enough to run in the house but if it glitches, which mine did, it can burn through your table top and start a fire so never leave it running unsupervised. It’s a cool tool. I bought mine after seeing yours. Does that red cover protect your eyes from the laser?
That flask looks pretty flimsy, but it appears to work very well.
I think you can make a drawer, aluminum slat support, and a hood with similar plastic and a vent system with few hours sitting on the porch and sipping a sweet tea, contemplate how to do it. I think you'd have to find the correct plastic sheet to make it Laser Eye Safe, but the company should tell you that for free with out argument.

I wonder if you could cut hardyplank and use that...maybe with a cnc and some either diamond or carbide endmills (that would probably wear out stupid fast)
OR...laser cut a mold...and mold cement as the flask with those interlocking tabs
Might not be economically feasable..
A 40W CO2 laser would cut MUCH MUCH better than that red diode laser...no matter what they say...they can't really push more than 5~W...more power they push at it all it does it generate heat, not more light...the CO2 lasers cut with a different wavelenght and use a different exciter setup.
Either way...way cool and should help make molds alot faster...I wonder if there is a way to treat the wood so it won't char up so fast
