an edgiest-looking Gundam design but piloted by a pretty chill guy like Duo, that was a fascinating juxtaposition.
Dude was unhinged, wyta? He had a chill personality, but the guy was absolutely obsessed with death and possibly felt more connected to his gundam than Quatra. Lol

For the gaps in the wings, you have to find where the pegs are inside the sections and give them a good squeeze. If you get them snapped in all the way, there shouldn't be a gap.

Fun fact: I removed them multiple time because of that, and the bottom of my nail started bleeding
The hi grade version of this was my first gunpla
The HG was the only Gunpla my sister ever made (she's more the gamer type)
I broke my Hg deathscythe and used it to make a custom with my Hg tallgeese iii
I only just decided to get back into it and pulled out the half complete HG sandrock and thought.. this is odd, the box says 1/100 but feels like a 1/144 haha
The HG Deathscythe Hell was my reintroduction into Gunpla and it almost stopped me from getting back into them. It was by far the most flimsy kit I ever bought

Edit: you can fix that peg with a small metal pin you can find at hobby stores and some super glue. You use a hand control drill and make a small hole on both parts and feed the pin there that and glue the parts back together and let it dry and add the arm back and he should be fine then

Just wanted to comment and say thanks SO MUCH for introducing me to buyee. Ive been trying to find the recent RG Sword Impulse for weeks and it's been tough finding it. I used Buyee and eventually found one. Just arrived last night. So excited to build that kit.

It's really incredible but I built the MG Gundam Deathscyte last week and I loved it! I was looking for him from 2014, some years after I entered in this wonderful world! I had the chance to buy it and it is really awesome! It solid as a rock (as you say), it's awesome in all its aspects and I enjoyed to build it.
Before to buy it I tried to find if you had already reviewed it but I didn't find it and I went for it only hoping it could be awesome not only in photos. Now I'm happy my thoughts and feelings about MG Deathscyte are almost the same of yours.
I'd give it Gold Tier but only for the feelings and memories this Gunpla gives me.

GODDAMNIT BANDAI MAKE TV VERSIONS!
The EW designs really isn't bad. In fact, they're not really all that different from TV counterparts with the exception of the Wing Gundam. Plus EW designs are cooler.
@@AssaultRider555 the mg heavyarms coulve been so much better. if the gatling slid onto the arm that wouldve changed the whole kit. the fact that it has to hold the giant gatling reallllly sucks.
I got both deathscythes as well, but then I kitbashed the two together to create something closer in approximation to the TV show counterpart. Deathscythe Hell just doesn't look right without the grapler shield, and I found the Standard Deathscythes armor colorization works better to contrast the Hell's appearance than the grayed-out armor does. Also: Dual-wielding scythes. It's just...all the yes.

D-Hell was my very first MG and it also had the issue with the active cloak parts having a gap. It also seems to be incapable of completely closing around the mobile suit. Not really a loss for me since he's been displayed with it open for the past 5 years already.

Just finished this build about an hour ago. I enjoyed the build. I didn't have the problem you had with the wing not clipping together properly, but I do have a loose toe/armor on its right foot. I also realized that there is a poly cap(#3) that might be used so that you can use the original deathscythe backpack. Also does the buster shield connect to the deathsythe hell's arm?
As one of the older kits, usual issues apply. Fitting issue as well as parts popping off, not to mention parts and joints suddenly became loose. Still a fun to build kit with a bit of challenge.
I just recently got a H.G Deathscythe Hell Custom E.W myself. The lack of paint apps and detail aside, it was fun to build overall. The only 'real' bit that bothered me was the fact that the beam for the scythe wasn't transparent like it showed in the images, but it's whatever. If I manage to get the $ together, I'll be sure to add this kit to my super small (at this time) collection. Thanks for the review as always good sir!
Loved this when I built it last year. Was ok to clean up the nubs and I painted mine. And yes, I glued the batarang edges

When you have those annoying plus-shaped pegs, you can try melting some runner plastic in a jar with plastic cement to make some glue to fill in the gaps. Sand any excess down and you should be good
i use a motherfucking plastic steel epoxy for metal to get those in place.
i know a bit overkill but its worth it to have a permanently strong joint

Same issues with the wings, im not really sure if it should be glued. Would you recommend using tamiya cement on that?
Gundam Wing was what got me into anime and mechas. Endless Waltz was my first anime movie I've ever seen, and Deathscythe has always been my favorite gundam.
I did the 1/144 hg version from the year 2000, apart from braking the head-fin, my only problem with it is the scythe is a solid yellow and not green but it’s still a good kit to try for beginners in my opinion
How should I approach building those shoulders if they break easily? I bought the regular Deathscythe EW and want to not break it while building it.
I built the 1/144 NG of base Deathscythe as my 3rd ever gunpla. so this gundam is close to my heart. thank you Mecha.

I picked one of these up from my local hobby shop a few weeks back. I was going to order one from PlazaJapan like I normally do, but I got mine in person for not much more than the $35 from PJ. They also have many other sets, MG, HG, PG, RG, and SD. Also Deep Striker for $160 😏
I’m probably hoping against hope, but I’d love to see these in the RG line. My Endless Waltz Wing and Wing Custom have impressed me so much, the rest deserves the same treatment!
Dude my deathsyche hell kit got so loose after two years that it makes poseing the kit a bit of a bitch, is there any way I can tighten up the loose joints on model kits pls?
I have a problem with the side parts of the waist, they dont hols dont how they should, they don even stay in play. I dont know if it is a common mistake or its just my deatscythe that its wrong
Not sure if anyone answered your question but my DS hell wing assembly seemed together perfectly something Is wrong with yours. Not sure if you maybe tried to take a apart during assembly and snapped a peg
Love your videos. I got into Gundam by watching the Gundam Wing series and Endless Waltz movie. I did a small scale model many, many, years ago of the Wing Zero, my favourite followed by Deathscythe. Would like to get into modeling again and was hoping to get your input on the best Wing Zero kit i should look into. Thanks
My deathscythe hell's left wing snapped off a long time ago and I had to glue it sacrificing it's poseability

I mean what really sold the design of this kit to me was the hyper jammer bat wings man, I remember seeing this thing open them up the first time in the movie and already I was in love

The mg death scythe lost a vernier at the back of the backpack
Is it just me or does that dark grey on the kit look more like a shade of purple? Because I plan on painting mine to make it more accurate so I want to get the correct shade of grey.

Some people might be wondering why the mobile suits aren't anime accurate. That's because the EW line is supposed to be accurate to the reboot manga, Mobile Suit Wing Gundam Endless Waltz: Glory of the Losers.
The EW versions also were in OVA.
One small visual error at the end, the red spikes were down for cloak mode when they should have up. ;)

C'mon man, I was researching the difference between these two kits yesterday. Was about to order one. Now I also need the other.
Forgot to mention the action base mount fits on the backpack wings mount as well, for those who don't want the mount point to be at the crotch.
Oh, so I guess I was pretty much the only one who had the problem of the Hip joint popping out if I breathed on it too hard.
i have the same issue with myn to on the "batterang" i have in on both the first 2 moving segments and 1 of the outer sections
I actually just finished it just yesterday and u say it was very hard to find I found it so easily
My wings have the exact same problem, painted the kit to have it’s movie colors (nearly black instead of darkish gray and gray instead of purple) before actually building it to find that problem so it’s probably gonna stay that way forever lol.
Might add some LEDs into it though in the near future once I get some more practice.
So...where's that part 2 of the AoZ PBandai kits?

I had wanted the Deathscythe Hell since I was about 9 years old. I had 1/144 Standard Deathscythe as a birthday gift and looking at the box, I spotted the Hell model and fell in love. Hop, skip and a jump almost two decades and I still love design of the Deathscythe Hell. So since the pandemic gave me nothing but time to find hobbies, I thought it was an ideal opportunity to finally buy it. The plastic around the helmet did break so I too had to glue it, and the wings' crease indeed DOESN'T close fully, but overall it is perfect. Everything I dreamed of in this beautiful Gundam.
(Edit: I commented back in 2020 and now that 2021 is almost over, I still can't get red points of the cloak to clip closed around Deathscythe. Does anyone have pointers on that?)

Can you attach that shield part from the regular one on to the Hell one?
11.11 This breaking can be fixed easily. You use hand drill to make holes on both broken pieces. Then put a small-cut-piece of paper clip or pin and combine the broken pieces with super glue. Now you will have fixed it.The joint is like having a matal beam inside stronger than before.

Are we ever going to get a reissued Wing Zero EW?
I really wish that we’d get MGs of the TV versions of these mobile suits. The TV Shenlong and Altron are some of my favorite mecha of all time. The old NG 1/100 kits don’t do them justice and the Heavyarms/ Sandrock don’t even have 1/100 kits for their TV design. A big missed opportunity in my opinion.
While most of us are all in self isolation, it's time I think for you to review old gunplas. I sure could use the input.
Would you be able to connect a striker pack?
The bat wing backpack was such an absolute pain to put together because the connecting pieces were nearly impossible to get to stay still. I really wanted to do the closed cloak but because of how janky to put it together was, I can't fold the wings at all XD
Just finished building this kit, the plastic is really brittle especially in the arm one (connection between shoulder and arm). Broken mine :(
Have all those Gundam W kits, had the same issue in the wings too, just used some glue on the wings!!
