I spend a lot of time watching car videos and dreaming about cars and this is a dream come true. I've been so lucky to have owned some amazing and beautiful cars over the last few years, with the C63 AMG being my dream car and then somehow going on to own the Porsche GT3, Lamborghini Huracan Performante and now this! My new Mclaren 600LT Spider with an epic clubsport spec! What do you think? The performance figures and 0-60 time of this supercar is insane, I can't wait to make a proper driving video in it! PS: Pferdestäke (literally German for horsepower) is a metric horsepower (still a wonky metric - kW are more useful).
In the UK you use bhp, i.e. brake horsepower an imperial unit of power (also sometimes just called horsepower to confuse everyone even more). 1bhp is 1,01387 PS which leads to all the difference performance figures. This is especially the case when namings or certain thresholds are involved as with the McLaren 600LT with 600PS but nonsensical 592bhp or the Bugatti Veyron cracking the amazing mark of 1000 horsepower with its 1001 PS but falling short with "only" 987 bhp.

HP is the same as PS. P stands for Pferd which means horse in german. And s for Stärke which is quite the same as power
Slight difference in rating when you get up to 600.. I think 591 hp is about 600 PS

Congratulations. I’m 100% sure you will love your new car. I’ve owned a 600LT Spider for over 2 years and every mile is epic. It’s a GT3 on track and transforms on a sunny day with the roof down into a great tourer. The ride quality is very surprising and the Senna seats not only look stunning but are amazingly comfortable over a long journey. Servicing costs are fairly reasonable and mine has been 100% reliable. I really can’t think of anything else I’d rather own for the money.

still think the gt3 was probably your best driving car so far. although the rs seems a bit much unless you spend loads of time on the track. new 992 gt3 would be perfect.

PS or PferdStarke is the metric measure of horsepower. It is the equivalent of 98.6% of one HP. The official measure in the European Union is kW - kilowatts - but is rarely used in everyday descriptions.
PS or Pferdestärken is simply the German word for horsepower and even literally means the same (Pferd=horse).
but I never knew that 1 PS isn't exactly equal to 1 HP, I wonder how tf that happened

Turbo is life, now you have them you won't want any different, the boost coming on the sound of the air being sucked into the engine just everything about a turbo car is just different and non stop smiles. Youll find in traffic youll end up waiting just to hit the boost as you catch back up to the traffic purly to hear the air pulling in.facts though my clio Williams that I turboed I still wish I had to this day

Mclaren's are one of those cars that you need to see close up. The details take forever to take in. Beautiful motors but even the P1 has a disappointing sound. What a car ❤️
Rwd is quite often better in a drag race (0-60) as there's less power lost through the transmission system, it weighs less and cars squat on launch meaning more grip is given to the rear wheels. Lovely vehicle tho. Love it. 👌🔥

Funnily enough a Mclaren roared past me this afternoon, not sure what model, I couldn't focus quickly enough! but I'm still struggling to think it would be better than the Huracan, but as I've had neither, interested to see what you think.
Great buy Matt, IMO better looking than the Perf and one of the best modern McLarens around, the fact financially it's newer and cheaper than the Lambo is just a bonus...more ply 😂
This is eerily similar to what I did when I became a dad. Except I didn't grab a McLaren, or a farm, or a new bike. BUT. I did get a lot of responsibility AND paid for it with (a lack of) sleep. So that's basically the same, right?

Not I my first car, a Toyota was lackluster. The GTI's on the other hand... ton of fun to throw around in the corners. Thing is on rails in comparison to anything else I've driven at speed.

More of an old hot rod and 50s lead sled kinda guy.. that being said, your McLaren has a bit of the lead sled look.. low, long, kinda bubbly in places.. and it's all black.. congrats on the new car.. rally it and have a blast, just leep the rubber side down...
