The whole premise of the movie is that you need a genius math nerd to be a big player, and for what? Not to mention, counting cards is not a rocket science, by their strategy, it's the spotters who need to be good at counting cards. They keep the count anyway even when the "big player" is at the table. "Big player" can be terrible at counting cards, his actual tasks are a) be good at showmanship and b) have good peripheral view for checking the signal from spotter.
and of course having perfect basic strategy, otherwise even keeping perfect count means you are losing money if you hit or stand at the wrong time.
The trial place actually is only a few blocks away from that cafe shop in Boston.
Ben reminds me of my younger self. Brilliant, but a little naive. I wish I could give him some wisdom that I have now. To all youngsters out there, my one piece of advice is this: Stay humble, and you will achieve true greatness one day.
Awesome demonstration at a restaurant/diner
According to basic strategy, you always split 8's
@Ken88 If you get double 8's and double, the chance of busting is extremely high
Thank you. I always split aces and 8s.
what's your opinion on splitting 10's?
@@francisignacio6569 don't split them unless the true count is like +6 or +7. Only problem is once you do that, it's basically a dead give away that you're a counter. Might as well write it on your forehead at that point.
@@shkrsimpson44 No one is going to suspect anything if you split 10s Js Qs Ks if the dealer is showing 4 5 or 6. I don't know if it's basic strategy but it's not a suspicious play. Always get as much money in as you can when dealer is showing a bust card.
Should have added in strategy variation. Can’t tell you how many time I hit 12 vs a 4 with a minus count and had some half assed basic strategy player complain. Or insurance bets, to get people out of thinking they take insurance on a good dealer card, rather then if they have an ace in the hole. The other pro moves, it’s good they left out, would be too much. Counting down the deck on the plane was a nice touch, an actual things beginner counters practice.
Never accept a drink from spacey
The bio says "how to cheat at Blackjack"... There is nothing cheating about playing the game better than the casinos do. Using your brain to make the best playing decision possible is not cheating.
Yea. Casinos don't want anyone winning easily
@@work90 to be fair, its not that easy. and what i mean by that is that even with card counting, the game is still only barely in favor of the player. with an expected value thats only barely >1
not in their eyes
i dont consider counting cards to be cheating however what there doing i could possibly see as unfair as there communicating the status of the deck so they player gets given information that the other players dont have
take 2 counters bill and bob
both sit at the table bob begins counting to calculate the count
bill already has been given the count
its a teeny bit of a unfair advantage
but if casinos didnt try to kick you out for doing it i suppose both could have started from the begining of the shoe and gotten a propper count
@@Sarge92 The other players don’t have that information because they haven’t taken the time to know how to use it. Anyone from any walk of life can learn how to count cards. Takes time and dedication but is well worth the investment when done properly. Also, Blackjack is a game where players at the table are able to communicate with one another to make playing decisions. Counting cards as a team is simply helping your team make educated playing decisions as a group effort.
It's a concept .you do not have to do it the exact same way
I don’t even know how to count card or what it even means hahahaha
if there's math, there's asian.
too many white people, inaccurate
@@MontyQueues nah Jimmy could have been black
There are two Asians
Just original stereotype, not every Asian is good at math like me.
I’m Asian and I’m offended… BECAUSE I SUCK AT MATH!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Why does the table have 2 salt shakers??
where’d all the comments go
Remember Big Hero 6?
That Asian guy looks like Hiro Hamada grown-up...
And Micky is Callaghan
Put some respect on Aaron Yoo's name
how come nobody in the diner recognize Keyser Soze????
Exactly, Keyser Soze is right there smth
The only person ever to see his face died on that boat thats why
@Yusuf Kasman... Because Williamson was supposed to be there to help them... not to f...k them up.Where did he learn his trade?
I just realize... There are Lois Lane and f ing lex luthor in this movie....
And cooper
Decks hot
Decks cooling
Get out and get out now

There isn't anything about counting cards in this clip. You have the wrong clip or the wrong title.
Man we need more Asian representation like Aaron Yoo in Hollywood, but in leading roles. No stereotypes. That's how it should be done.
@The Lenny Show Regardless of whether or not they're positive, they box Asian actors into categories like martial arts & math nerd when we are capable of portraying much more complex and unique characters.
You have to think critical about the situation. Cause the talent pool is slim so just shoe horning in someone just because of (insert race) isn't the answer if someone more talented id passed over. I'm all for representation but as long as they are the correct fit
@@knightarcane4920 Aaron Yoo is definitely capable of more though, Wong Fu Productions made a feature-length film called Everything Before Us and he was one of the leads.
@@lionellerichee oh yeah hes amazing. What I'm saying is people do this push for representation by any means
You don’t deserve something just because you are certain race or color. Asians don’t need Hollywood.
Imagine how fast the professor gets fired in 2023. Just one little smartphone and he gone
No. He wouldn't get fired. Wrong
Yes. He would get fired. Correct
There was a lot of cool demeanor in this movie which almost ruined the good plot.
I guess no on really saw it coming when Spacey started doing movies with teens or movies titled "Baby Driver"
It's not clear
Doesn't the dealer shuffle the cards before distribution?
Even if you are the best in counting how could you win the game????
Count starts over when the dealer shuffles- typically dealers don’t shuffle unless all players leave or it’s requested by the floor. However some tables have multiple decks on the table. Every second a dealer is shuffling is a second the casino is losing money, and counting cards only gives you about ~1% advantage over the house. Also, the pit bosses are trained to catch counters and will ask you to stop your play if they see you’re an advantage player.
I hate this movie:
1. Always split 8s, they're maths geniuses but don't understand basic maths 🤦♂️
2. Counting cards is extremely boring but eventually rewarding, not worthy of a movie.
3. Casinos don't beat people up, that's just asking for a lawsuit when they can instead just kick you out and bar you.
4. You don't need to be a maths genius to count cards, it's actually pretty simple as long as you have quick arithmetic skills.
what
Yo
0:04 dumbest methodology and was just done to create movie drama. It should’ve been omitted.
What are you going to do with 16 then if you don’t split it. Hit and pray for 5 or less which rarely happens or split and potentially get 18.
It’s a no brainer
Surrender
no ones here lmao

This was a terrible movie
has it's moments...
Literally while this film was being made MIT students were working with the US government , the heads of the central banks and BlackRock devising how to initiate a global financial coup d’etat to achieve ‘radical central control’ under the operation name ‘Going Direct Reset’
In 2019 they initiated the first stage of THAT plan under the guise of a ‘pandemic’
Ever wonder what happened to the missing trillions from the Pentagon?
Media corporations, politicians, scientists, doctors, etc. etc. etc.
1998-2015. And we know how ‘thorough’ they were at insuring every corner was ‘compromised’
Did you take the blue pill
You’re mentally insane
