Fantastic play. I thought, going in to this, that the Death Guard would have it in the bag, but this proves that it comes down to scoring objectives.
in the new rules of 9e, necrons are actually amazing at just outliving opponents and winning on points.
necrons op at point scoring. army doesnt need to be nerfed just their secondaries
funnily enough iirc death guard were winning tournaments back when mortarian was released. now silent kind is the hot new army commander needing to be sold and low and behold necrons are the strongest competitive army currently

Michael is my favorite player on the show. Not many people play Xenos like the Necron and I love his dedication to his favorite unit (Watson) despite it not being an optimal choice. That’s exactly how I’d play with my army (if I could play this game). Fun trumps winning, that’s why I love Grey Knights and Necrons.

Letting you know when the Daemon Prince charged at 23:45, charges DO NOT ignore vertical distances, even if you have fly. They rolled a 9" on the charge, depending on the distance and the crate's height, it is looking like a risky 10" or something like that. Everyone seems to always forget that charges do not ignore vertical movement, lol.
"If a unit’s datasheet has the FLY keyword, then when it makes a charge move, its models can be moved across other models (and their bases) as if they were not there, but they must move over terrain features (including BUILDING units) like any other model. A model that can FLY cannot finish any move on top of another model." - Core Rules, Flying when Charging.
This means the Daemon prince, to move down, would need to move the distance of his base, and the height distance of the crate, THEN move within 1" of the models as well. Its very rough, and most likely a failed charge. This also applies to Mortarian, but TSK was within 1" of the edge of that building, meaning he did not have to move down to engage them. Kinda rough mechanic, but I see SO many channels do it wrong.

A few rules mistakes here and there but a fun watch regardless! For reference:
1) Techno-Cloak heals in the Movement phase, not Command Phase. Doesn't usually make a different as it tends to stick to one or two units anyway. In this case, as the LHD has 2W it would heal 1 for LM and then auto heal one from the Techno so there was no need to roll.
2) Whirling Onslaught makes you -1 to Wound, not Hit, although I think Steve just got them mixed up. It does *sound* like it should make you -1 to Hit.
3) TSK MAKES YOU FIGHT LAST! Could have made a difference.
Yeah it's real frustrating watching someone forget a massive rule for a Supreme Commander like that. Morty woulda been bracketed by the time he got to swing on that second charge for sure.

Watson also wasn't -1 to hit shooting into combat against Morty, as the Flayer Arrays are Rapid Fire and not Heavy weapons.

silent king does have a fights last for units in engagement range so it should have gone before mortarion in turn 3
Yeah, I was wondering about that, and checking if Mortarion had anything to counteract Silent King's fights last. Maybe there's something we're missing
I think Mortarion's aura ability shuts it down.

I like both armies about evenly and there both really good factions. This looks like a great battle
I’m pretty new to tabletop and my favorite game so far has been facing a death guard player with my Necrons. It was filled with every twist and turn imaginable and I was able to make some really great rolls and Reanimations that got me the win.

I literally just played my first game of Warhammer and won! It was a small 500points game, I was using my death guard ( my opponent his Astra Militarum), and during gameplay I couldn't help but to thinking if the Necrons might be better for what I want out of gameplay. This'll be the perfect match to help me decide!!
