I had never got to see them live. As a fan of the band, and a fan of Dusty (I play bass), I had just got tickets for late November here in Texas 2021. Just wasn’t meant to be. RIP Dusty. Your P bass sound was huge.

@@Mark-sj3xb I can agree that Rush is another great three piece band. Alex, Geddy, and Neil are great musicians. Their instrumentals are awesome. The only reason I don't listen to Rush on a regular basis is because I can't stand Geddy's squeaky ass voice. His vocals are decent but not my favorite.
As I have heard others say for some time now, there comes an age (turning 52 next week) when your music icons are going to reach the end of the tour. The initial response is often "so sad, no more new songs", but it should be thanks for all of the songs, concerts and memories, in my aging opinion. Be at peace Dusty and thanks for the memories.
Billy says it all with that smile on his face. Some things in America will always be great and remind us of what a great country we are privileged to live in. He and his band made everyone feel that rock and roll energy from a family togetherness type of environment. Awesome and thank God they are still around after so many have unfortunately had to leave some way too soon. Thank God for America.

I don't care what anyone says about these guys they are right on... They have stage presence that is always perfect. Subtle moves together and they put on a great show. Always have loved them always will. From one musician to another.
There’s nothing like plain, direct, shake your head back and forth, tap your foot music. No flashy, million note guitar solos, crazy inserts, just plain old 3 piece band goodness.
I've NEVER gotten tired of hearing them play. The SAME 3 guys since the beginning have put out a catalog of music that bridges rock, blues and everything in-between. I CAN'T believe that they ONLY got to play 2 songs here. They're SO underated even though they're in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. I hope that they keep on making music forever!

The keyboards gave The Moving Sidewalks a totally different vibe. I prefer the straight ahead Rock / Texas Blues from ZZ TOP!
Rest in peace Dusty you true legend, I used to watch this DVD at my uncle's every time I went over. There were many great acts on this bill but the Top shone as bright as any of them. They couldn't have picked a better pair of tunes to perform.
Hell, if you've been playin with the same dudes for almost 50 years you'd be sync'd up too. What's amazing to me is just how freakin tight they are....drums, bass & guitars are on point every single note & beat even when they improvise.
Great video, there will never be another. I had the privilege of spending some time with the drummer Frank at his home. Absolutely one of the coolest laid back and personable people I have ever met. Gave me a full tour of his home all access no holds barred, a great experience that I will never forget.

I just realize that ZZ Top was always around me since my high school. Absolutely love that Little Ol’ Band from Texas. The Masters of Galaxy in what they are doing.
As a kid, 15 , I learned all the songs on my bass. That was 1977. Taught me a lot. I became an accomplished bassist. I owe gratitude. The dude was the "Bottom". Simple, and the core of good bass work. Anyone here with know how gets it. The dude stayed simple and BOTTOM. We owe a lot for him not trying to be Chris Squire. I learned a lot at a very young age that paid off so many years later. These guys are a class act. Thank you, Dusty. Flame on man.

This performance is one of my favorites, they sound so friggin amazing. I'm in love with that guitar, I want one ! If you haven't seen this band live, be sure to do so before it's to late and spend the extra money to get up close. These guys are living legends with the best tone in existence. The great players like Billy, I think will be remembered like the gunslingers of the wild west in 100 years. It just doesn't get any better than ZZ top !
The "Live from Texas" DVD from the '08 tour (they had the Stray Cats opening with Pretenders second on the bill) is probably the best rendition available, polished like a freshly-detailed "ZZmobile" . They were opening with "Got Me Under Pressure" that time, the same sequence is on the "Double Down Live" 2-dvd set that has them live from 1980 too. I have both sets, they are worth having. I'm dreaming that they team up with some other "Godfathers of Rock" and do some big shows this summer. I would travel to Texas for that if the stupid government in Cali won't let anybody play.
That axe is one of the coolist,and Billy made it famous...I am building MY version of that 'Billy Bo' guitar....ZZ top has been my fave since day one.....

Saw them open for the Black Crowes yrs ago. Went in w little expectations.. came away mind blown & by far best band I’ve ever seen.
This performance is one of my favorites, they sound so friggin amazing. I'm in love with that guitar, I want one ! If you haven't seen this band live, be sure to do so before it's to late and spend the extra money to get up close. These guys are living legends with the best tone in existence. The great players like Billy, I think will be remembered like the gunslingers of the wild west in 100 years. It just doesn't get any better than ZZ top !

The "Live from Texas" DVD from the '08 tour (they had the Stray Cats opening with Pretenders second on the bill) is probably the best rendition available, polished like a freshly-detailed "ZZmobile" . They were opening with "Got Me Under Pressure" that time, the same sequence is on the "Double Down Live" 2-dvd set that has them live from 1980 too. I have both sets, they are worth having. I'm dreaming that they team up with some other "Godfathers of Rock" and do some big shows this summer. I would travel to Texas for that if the stupid government in Cali won't let anybody play.

You can't see these guys in concert and NOT have a smile on your face. Saw them in the 80's, and still unforgettable. I would rather see them than Eric Clapton.
