As a Marillion fan since 1981 I think this is a superb version. The geetar dude is awesome and the vocals are sublime
Want to say the same thing. Production quality is way superior to Marillion original. Most propably because 40+ between the two.
Some of later live Marillion versions sound more… modern and therefore epic.
This lady has incredible voice too.
But.
Even with the not top tier musician supported, older, beat up Fish recite this just…. Yeah.

This song like all Fish era tracks is as personal to me as it gets. A fan since seeing them at their spiritual home, Maxwell Hall Aylesbury Friars 1982 onwards, through Lorelly 1987 and the final Fish shows Hammersmith 88. You guys have earned the right to recreate these classics. I'd love if you could record the entire 4 studio albums.

Oh wow I followed marillion up untill Fish left. Never bothered with them again. Nothing can compare to him. Untill I found you. This is a masterpiece as good as the original. Your voice is amazing and the playing is stunning. Very talented guitarist and musicians. I love it. 10 out of 10 . Mind blowing rendition this is.

Until I discovered Fleesh, I never knew about Marillion. I listened to the Marillion tribute album and thought it was fantastic, but THIS track, is incredibly well done. The final section, from the 6:00 mark on, is so powerful that it stirs emotion. From the music, the lyrics and Gabby's vocals. Fantastically well done. ..."So I'll hold my peace forever, when you wear your bridal gown. In the silence of my shame, the mute that sang the siren's song."

Can't applaud loud enough. Gabby, your vocals are melodic, wide-ranging, have wonderful timbre and resonance, and more. You made numerous improvements without dishonoring Marillion's version. Not that Fish ever had a great voice; his lyrics and techniques were always his strong suit. Celo, you were also true and respectful of the original. Magnificent!!! Have only listened to your Season's End performance previously which was incredible. But this version of one of their early masterpieces is on another level. As someone who is obsessed with Marillion, I gotta say, your Marillion covers are insanely good and they have such an amazing quality to them. I kept finding myself coming back to these videos and I said to myself, I really wish they had all of these songs on CD... and then I saw that you sell them! lol so I just purchased the Marillion CD and I also added the Rush CD too. I have the Marillion album this song is on (also called Script for a Jester's Tear), and I know it is open to interpretation. But my interpretation is it is about a man who has been in love with a girl since his childhood but never did anything about it. Now she is marrying someone else and it is too late to reveal his feelings towards her.
