Well you got me, gonna try this MMO. Not expecting much but hey, maybe it'll be fun because I've never heard of it before. So naturally that means it couuuuld be good I guess. Thanks for the free shit, although I mean I know you make money for the channel so it's not like you gave it to give it but still.
Yeah nevermind, battlepass and a long running history of their (I think parent?) parent company pushing P2W shit into it. Unfortunate, but still gave your link a click.
Bitter you know the cheesy tactic of assigning the field marshal to a plan and then assigning the general a garrison order to a neutral country you can use it for the port encirclement so you support attack the units in the port in that way they won't move into the port and they will get the advantages of the planning bonus
yeah no don't play that game. its pay2win garbage
you're clearly making plenty of money from youtube and you still choose to promote this trash, sad
If you're frustrated with the way railways go wonky, hold shift and then click - the railway will snap automatically to the shortest route from start to cursor
Fun fact for HoI IV gaming: if you hold "shift" while building railroads it will build them in the most efficient (and usually straight) path possible, and if you let go of shift after you get your mouse to the end of the rail you're building, it will still build the railway on the most efficient path but at level 1!
No need to thank for that (rather convoluted) advice Feedback, honestly thought you'd know that by now 😅
Wow thanks, it actually works.
(If someone else can't get it to work, try to hold shift while placing the start of the railway)
While I do enjoy building railways manually, that's actually super nice and more people should know about it!
2900h in hoi4, just realised that you're right
shift does that on every type of building and if you press shift when adding troops in training it adds 6
@@ambol7450to be fair, more than half your time I’m assuming the supply system wasn’t a thing. If it wasn’t a thing when you were learning the game, you are less likely to know the hotkey. Speaking of, I’m about 1k hrs in and didn’t know the shift key for railroads trick either. 😂

Watching Bittersteel butchering the mandarin pronounciation is both painful and hillarious
The rōmaji equivalent for mandarin is atrocious garbage, causing most people to mispronounce. Gotta wonder if it was some passive-aggressive act by the British.
@@R3GARnatorWades-Giles definitely was, but Pinyin is done mostly by the Chinese themselves.
he's actually doing great when put to comparison with other hoi4 youtubers, saying "Qingdao" like "Chingdao"
@@ShirakamiKaiser you'd be suprised with how many can't get at least BASIC chinese pronunciation properly
@@lovelylavenderrthat's why i said he did great, because other hoi4 youtubers do worse on pronouncing these chinese
"I'm trying to make a guide for you guys to follow."
**Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek furiously scribbling notes in heaven**
Tip for the Qingdao exploit: delete the frontline but keep the troops there. When troops land, control right click on them. This will do a support attack (blue arrow rather than red) and your troops will destroy theirs but won't accidentally walk in.
if i do this with all unit it will automatically change it for a normal attack unless there are at least one division attacking, very annoying
He knows, but no one needs such exploits to make the game so easy
you get planning bonuses if you have a frontline
I have tried doing support attacks this way but troops always walk in anyways, even when the arrow is blue. Is there a second method to do support attacks?
is there any icon in the game that represents support attack, because i couldn't find it. (i always forget the key combos)
I literally just watched your old guide this morning, now you release another today lmao. Keep up the epic content!
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@Bitt3rSteel Will you do a guide for the warlords?
@@matheusdiastelo5373that’s boring
@@JChrist0AD but I need the damn warlords achievements
@@matheusdiastelo5373 idk maybe cheese it
China, the only nation in hoi4 that requires a guide on it being made every time a new dlc releases.
21:00 Control right click on the enemy division in the port, should have a blue attack arrow, your division will attack the enemy without moving tile
That doesn’t work for me
I have to ctrl alt right click for some reason
you have to click on division icon
Deng Dong became the new San Tzu
Omg thank you for covering by merit alone. I could never get that without your help. I barely know anything about general xp. It would be awesome if you did a general farm guide or something like that. I never really know what to get besides infantry expert, logistics wizard, improv expert, and offensive doctrine
Amazing another video from bittersteel thanks to your videos i have gotten in to Hoi4.
Yippee Kay yay, a new entry in the a-z series! As well as the country I’m struggling with! Very cool. Keep up the great work Bittersteel
Wait no nevermind I just realised this probably isn't A-Z. Great video anyway!
@@The_Marttrix it looked funny how a moment of recognizing came to you and you just accepted it. No blame, just a comment
There is a lot to enjoy in your video, and I can relate to the struggles of overcoming the language barrier. It's quite funny, haha. Thank you for making another great video. As for your next one, I would love to see you play Crusader Kings 3. I have already voted for it on your community channel.
too be honest you basicly taught me hoi4 and your my fav hoi4 youtuber Keep It Up
Nice video. I just did this recently, and its a minor point, but to get the Romance of the Three Kingdoms achievement you just need to integrate the puppets, this can be done with the regular mechanics OR the special integration events.
I'm so happy to see you doing guides again!
Nice video keep up the good work
4:14 if you shift click on the target province in railway construction, it will automatically snap to the shortest route. It's in the tool tip if you hover over the railway icon in the construction menu
What if japan just never touches qindao ?
Ah, China. Watching your old china videos was how I finally got the hang of playing this freaking game, happy to see an update.
Thank you so much!! I was finally able to get those two achievements... now... Could you make a video with a warlord? 😁
Would love to see a long version of this.
Could you do a challenge that has you control Germany in 1943, but...
Your rail efficiency reflects the real world, where up to 60% of the rolling stock and engines took priority to move people to the...winter...camps...
Could you win with that massive handicap?
I actually keep the coastal supply hubs disconnected so they have to use convoys. While I am defending I mark the sea zones as "no access", this will prevent your convoys from travelling through the sea zones but the supply hubs will be disconnected (unfortunate but necessary for what follows). Once I have the Japanese pushed out of the mainland I start producing a good amount of NAVs, and once I have around 200 I let the convoys have access again. This baits Japan into convoy raiding the shallow sea zones, and if you put the NAVs up you will absolutely SHRED their subs. Once I paradrop mainland Japan they have no subs and so they can't convoy raid me anymore (the AI will never use surface ships to raid). So I get to move my troops in without worrying about them getting eaten by subs or having no supply once they arrive. I've used this to reliably cap Japan by mid-41 which means no USA in the Allies, so it becomes much easier to fight them later on if you want to keep playing.
The video description references the use of the DLC No Step Back. Maybe it should indicate the use of the DLC Arms Against Tyranny.
Nice run and fantastic editing. I really enjoy your HOI4 videos. Thank you for making them.
Your videos are amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Oooooh I finally spotted my name in the members divisions !
As I recall you can control + click to have your divisions attack the enemy in a tile, but keep from moving into the tile.
I loved this one so much! Still hoping for a current day roman empire guide!!
4:26 hey bitter if you press control before clicking for the railway it will create the shortest route possible ;)
It would be amazing if you made an updated Ultimate Spain guide, It's the one country I simply can't play
Almost at 200k subscribers. Are you gonna do a special?
Deng Dong carried
Amazing vid one thing is that I dont do is build a supply hub I just walk past guanxi army
Awesome video bro, I learn more and more about the game with every video of yours I watch (:
Good news: The 'ghost divisions' after annexing a country which you got expeditionary forces from will get fixed with the next patch (it's already in the 1.13.6 beta patch).
Good this guide got update. Shame I'm still missing DLC, this time I don't have the new one!
The spy cheese is funny because that kind of diplomatic delay is sort of what Chiang was going for (big reason Manchuria was ceded without a fight). In game, Marco Polo also gives you a choice to cede land to further delay and allow for a bigger military build up.
In reality it was political suicide and executed very poorly but what is historical accuracy in HOI4?
Could you do one for Mexico next? It has become a lot harder in recent patches to defeat the US and get the revenge of montezuma
wake up, bittersteel uploaded a new banger
uih i found chewy :D u absolute grand strategymonster :D i learned so much from u in both games !!
This guy makes my day
Hey bitter I’ve been subscribed and watching forever I have a question. Why do you usually have la resistance turned off on your play throughs? I have all them turned on and was wondering if the game is better without it?
If I remember correctly he usually has it on so he can get spies
You can sign the non aggression pact while Japan is completing it's focus to get a wargoal
13:50, im doing this guide right now, and japan still had a -4 opinion of me and wouldnt take a non aggression pact, so improve relations with them so they will accept on top of providing diplomatic pressure
Instead of stopping units manually like you did in Qingdao you can instead “control+ right click”. This way your troops automatically stop after beating the enemy.
That doesn't work for me. The attacks start off blue but turn into a normal red attack arrow with movement as soon as they engage.
it took me until jun 14 1937 just to get the 2warlord i needed, while i was just passing throught the country
Playing "Animal Crossing: Wild World" while watching Bitt3rsteel playing HOI4
Now i feel like a total noob cause trying to win with China since the supply patch and never winning :( thx for the guide!
A please do more guides like this
Hey Bittersteel, just curious, given your channel name: are you a fan of game of thrones?
Nice. I actually played this China for the first time yesterday. Somehow, I got Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Awake and Angry first attempt. I wish I would have known BitterSteel would release a video about China just today, lol.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@Bitt3rSteel of course! :D
Ive said it before and im going to say it again, GBP is stastisticly better then superior firepower, if your doing tank pushes go left, if doing inf defence/attack go right path

SPF is easier to use since it's just raw stats. but most importantly it's very frontloaded with bonuses
not saying it's bad, just that there's reasons to pick one over the other

You can join Japan's faction if you are in the same war as them. I used it to play tall china, and it's basically broken
hey bittersteel, i saw you have problems with railways, you know you can just hold shift, click the starting point, unhold shift, and then clicking on the end point, and it will automatically give you the optimal path?
and also you can ctrl+right click the port trap instead of stopping the attack every time because with the ctrl+right click method your units just attack, they don't walk into territory
who has been waiting 4 this vid 4ever?
"I hate how those railways are stupid zigzag..." Well, welcome to the real world of building railways in that area in China lol.
Less go another video
Saving this vid only downside don’t have Al the dlc’s 😅😢
I just made some cornbread to have with my dinner
Just a quick question, the frontline mass produced units are still the plain 18 width units no?
ROC and PRC moment
I am now singing DENG DONG THE MAO IS DEAD and it's your fault, Mr Steel.
Hey bittersteel, why do you not worry about the debuffs on generals
I can't say why, but when it comes to forming Nationalist China, i am always drawn to Xibei San Ma to do it.
Great video but one question: When you declare war on the PRC it is possible for them to join the Comintern right?
Nah, they never join the comintern unless you take too long to annex them, that happened with me but with sinkiang, had to restart
Nice video. You do Hoi4 really good. I like your Hoi4 videos. Thank you. Also I have a video idea where you do a monarchist Germany WC.
I just rage quitted China a few hours ago and now this pop up. 😂
You can update the old guns
can you do a guide for empty puppet countries conueor the world like playing as a puppeted algeria no factories at the start
Best alternative history scenario in asia ✌️👌
Will you experience the mod Eight Years War of Resistance?
Field Marshal Den Dong that Name alone🤣😂
"Who is this dingdong?"
"It's pronounced Deng Dong, sir."
Napoleonic France run?
Ding done the ultimate general
I love when deng dong got promoted and said "Its time to dong. Deng Dong" and then Donged all over the place
@bitt3rsteel Can you now play a the 2023 but 1936 mod, play as Nationalist China and retake China? Obviously you're stuck on Taiwan. And the mod gives the PRC a decent fleet. The cruisers are a bugged template and are worthless, but it's still enough to make getting naval supremecy difficult. So you'll probably need paratroopers.
Not to mention they make a massive army pretty quick. I want to see how you make it work. Oh, and also the Japanese don't seem to attack the PRC until the Nationalists are defeated. So they can't even be somewhat helpful and be a distraction to the reds.
It's a tough playthrough. Should make a good video.
Deng Dong the method of warfare
Early Christmas for China players
I know this technically doesn't fit this video, but I have a few questions I'm hoping @Bitt3rSteel could answer.
I'm playing as Xibei San Ma transitioned into Nationalist China- it's April 1944. As I was mopping up Manchuria with the United Front, Communists declared war. I'd beaten them later, but they had been accepted into the Allies and called them in. My UF allies are holding firm in Burma and I think northern Pakistan judging by province flags. I've taken down Japan with paratroopers in Feb '44 since I am lagging behind on navy research.
I want the Battlecry achievement, and maybe even I'll Make a Man Out of You. The problem: every warlord refused to submit after Subjugate the Warlords finished. My question: *is there a way to puppet a country without having the country's divisions vanish upon capitulation, or should I simply let the wargoals expire and fight the war alongside my faction members* ? Wargoals expire in late September '44.
Axis has taken Baku and Moscow, but not Leningrad and Stalingrad. Italy had its pro-Allied turn, and Axis forces in central Italy are cut off. No D-Day yet, though. Is it maybe wise to attack the USSR?
the best timeline!
i see the best way to patch the qingdao exploit is have Marine troops not get a disorganized penalty when doing naval landings.
they dont afaik
unless you mean transport, in which case the issue would stay because they rarely ever use marines on ports
@@kyallokyttyThey have the penalty on both occasions. Also others.
Neat
This China became Ai in my game after defeating Japan and declared war on my puppet. It’s hell to defeat in the East
Japan lost the war goal against me lol thought they keep it till end of the game
حي عينك يا علي مشعل
Deng Dong Truly the best general in the world. Sun Tzu will be proud
Me getting the achievement a few seconds before the video comes out 😅
Is this part of A-Z series?
It's him! Dingus Dongus!
the port cheese tactic is so OP - also AI is so not able to do naval invasions. makes the game kind of stupid frankly since AI D-day only works very late in the game after Germany takes like 12 milion + casualties
16:25 ding dong 😂
Not enough people play nationalist China, so this is very welcome
