Original Dutch title of the song: Van de Liefde Weet Ik Niks.This song was written by Ruben Annink (sitting on the hot seat). He's crying because it's about his parents divorce. In the song however it's about a girl's parents. For this show Floor together with her sister Irene translated the song into English for Ruben.
*When, where & who* : episode was recorded on an April evening 2019, outdoors at resort Atzaró on Ibiza Island. BesteZangers season #12 hosted by Jan Smit. Not only Jansen (and the other 6) sang live, also the *MF Band* displayed their musical skills live! So, also credits to the MF Band with: Marcel Fisser (bandleader & lead guitar) - Marijn van den Berg (drums) - Serge Bredewold ( bass guitar) - Edwin de Groot (guitar / backing vocals) - Gregor Hamilton (synthesizer / keyboards) - Martijn de Laat (trumpet) - Arno Slijper (piano / keyboards) - Lesley van der Aa (backing vocals) and multi-instrumentalist Hubert Heeringa (the headscarfed saxofonist, violinist, etc). A FTV Production.
Ruben wrote this song about the difficulty he has had after his parents divorced. Floor translated the song to English and dedicated it to him, although she's lucky that her parents are happy and together
Yup she translated it with the help of her sister.
Floor is an empath … she takes on everyone's pain .. .and gives back healing tears …

Once upon a time a lion was hunting the savannah. There he saw a gazelle as a prey. Hunting that gazelle down grabbed her by the neck. And before he killed her, floor started to sing. In total awe he and the gazelle looked skywards in total shock and tears . The song finished and the lion let the gazelle free, both went back to there elders . And cherished this moment of goddess like song. They happely lived ever after. And spread the story of floor the soul replenisher.
That's 6 reactors now that have cried. Who could blame you. She has a stage presence that's hard to imitate.
That was the mournful and soulful Floor Jansen ripping the hearts out of every listener as once again she proves that you experience her not merely hear her when she sings. I closed my eyes as she looked and sounded like the great Country singer, Patsy Cline, who lamented her loves through her soulful songs over her her short but wonderful career before her untimely death. Tonight no Nightwish, no pyros, just a small studio band and Floor like she was at some small cabaret where she was having the brokenhearted patrons diluting their drinks with the tears she was squeezing out of them with each song!!!! This was for the singer on the couch who wrote it to cope with his parents divorce, so raw and real is the perfect description!!
And he is only 20 years old. Can you imagine writing a song like this at that age...........

We have also wondered here in Finland similar way one person (Jussi Hakulinen), who was just 18 years old when he made a song which have now iconic position in Finnish popular culture. Band name was Yö (it means in Finnish language Night) and song name Joutsenlaulu (it means in Finnish language Swan song). They made this song 1984.
This 18-year-old young man sang a song about his 80-year-old aunt who had been left alone after her children left and her husband died. Name for the song came from ancient story, Swan sings only once in a lifetime, just before it dies.

Well, you are not the only one, whom got hit in the heart. Floor is absolutely nailing the song, so she blows off all limits.
I guess that several thousand of us fans just sat there and watched the screen getting unclear - so your reaction was pure natural behavior.

Its what she does. Wraps you in her music and takes you with her. Right from your soul she grabs you.
I went to bed crying after watching her sing this a dozen times. And now I've woken up and the tears are rolling again, just a beautiful heavenly performance 😍
Great reaction ..The reason why Floor is so good, Is because she puts herself into the character of the song..Her hair, her clothes even her makeup so she not only gives you the voice! But the imagery of the song..Amazing..
And some actors do the same when they study the character they will be playing

Floor really is extraordinary. A music fan all my life and I have never seen anything like the effect floor has on people when she sings.
Once again, the first time I've seen this. Floor showing here just how much emotion she can put into a song. Honestly, I've loved all the Nightwish vocalists, but Floor has to be the most versatile, at least for me. And, yes I've teared up a little myself. That was a swift punch right in the heart!
In Floor´s case, words are not what draws out emotions, but her delivery of them. So beautiful. :-) And this was again delivered with so much heart in it. Have a nice day, Kelly.

Hey Kelly, first to comment !! haha. Well, what do you think ? What a pleasure. Being able to witness the softer side of Floor. I would compare this with the ocean, something I always think: the ocean is so big, so deep, so powerful. How many lives it has taken? How destructive it can be ? but, it also lets you enjoy your life in its waters, you can play in it, your children can play in it. Something so vast reaches the shores so softly sometimes.
Just like Floor did this time. All that power contained. A little bit more than a whisper. So warm and fragile.
Hope not to be exagerating, but really, once again, she's showing us what she's capable of. Thanks for the reaction, I was looking forward for it.

Originally written in Dutch by Ruben and translated into English by Floor and her sister Irene. And yes, I was a victim as well.

It must be really frustrating, that no matter how good your song is, Floor can just take it like that and make it even better.
Didn't seem he was frustrated about it at all, in fact he outrigth stated rigth after the song ended how amazed he was that Floor constantly manages to take another ones song to the next level every episode again.
I didn't really mean it like that, although he did actually say after Floors performance, that it is insane how she can make everything just better.
Of course it's great as an artist to see your song being performed in a different way, but it must also be kind of depressing to see, that someone can take your song, which you worked so hard on to make it perfect, and improve it that easily.

Ruben said it himself on the show, after Floor finished her performance. Something along the line of: "It's absolutely insane how you manage to make everything better"
some actors are method actors, Floor Jansen is a method singer.
the lyrics where translated by floor, bud the song was writen by the 20 year old boy i the hotseat. Amzing aint it.
Floor's sister translated the lyrics for her .. which is pretty darn cool! :)
