- Protests against the war in Gaza have been taking centre stage at college campuses across the US.
Activists have been calling for universities to "divest from genocide" and to stop investing large school endowments in companies involved in weapons manufacturing and other industries supporting Israel's war in Gaza.
Students at Columbia University in New York set up a protest encampment a week ago. The university asked New York city police to clear the camp on 18 April, and officers arrested about 100 people.
In Texas and California, police confronted campus protesters and made dozens of arrests.

Everytime there's a protest against genocide or genocide is denounced, the debate turns into anti-semitism, and more time is ,spent on anti-semitism than genocide.

I saw a video of a 8th year old boy in a Gaza Hospital whose parents were killed in a israeli air strike and who lost both his legs as they were amputated. The hospital is existing on diesel generators as the occupiers shut down the electricity.

Here is some simple, checkable, information.
Before Israel or Jordan were declared countries there were about 2 million people in the area 27% Jews 66% Arab (1947 British Palestine mandate, after fall of Ottoman Empire). The aim was to re-establish the individual countries that had been there before.
Jordan, West Bank and Gaza (about 4/5 of the land) given to the Arabs. Israel (17% ) to the Jews. Jews are now 28% of the population in that area.
French mandate, divided that area into Syria and Lebanon, there were many Jews living in those areas too but none of that was given to Jews. The land was divided not stolen.
Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, they destroyed 26 synagogues. Evicted 1,700 families to Israel from the land that they had bought and developed including 166 intensive farms ( mostly poly tunnels which you can see on satellite imagery but are now poorly managed). Gaza voted for Hamas and have been self governing since then. They receive the highest level of aid per person in the world but haven’t built any power or water plants since so Israel has been supplying since then even after 2012 when they stopped paying for the supply of electricity.

Short term it means a lot also as culturally we were never allowed to even question Israel in my lifetime so removing the fear threshold is already having large effects as anyone can see on social media.

Ukrainian's are light skinned, white Europeans. A lot more have died than Gaza, including Russian soldiers, but those don't count for them. All of those deaths aren't genocide. Not important enough for them. Only the supposed oppressed are good enough to protest for.

First. Israel acted selflessly to live in peace with the Palestinians in Gaza. It was more than a decade ago when Israel itself ordered Israeli citizens who had lived there for decades to literally leave their homes. The first thing the Palestinians did in return was to elect a government that enshrined the goal of destroying Israel in the constitution. The elected government followed through with its promise. Since its founding, thousands of rockets have flown into Israeli settlement areas. Dozens of civilians died in terrorist attacks. Millions of aid funds - intended for civilian institutions - were misused to sponsor this terrorism. October 7th was just what Humus had been doing for years.
Secondly. Israel behaved more humanely in this conflict than any other conceivable party in any imaginable conflict. It allowed Palestinians to work in Israel, receive medical care or even migrate to Israel. During war, they warn civilians where their military is operating. They admit collateral damage and apologize for it.
The situation is clear. In no other conflict the responsibility for the suffering has been so one sided and clear - in no other conflict have the perpetrators been held accountable so weakly. People with voice and power who claim to reject war and the nature of war have a duty to unequivocally name the culprit of this war and do everything in their power to eliminate them. Everything else is responsibility for the resulting suffering and is as history has proved continuing this madness.
