You, sir, have single-handedly elevated CZcams with this video. Love it, man. Just an absolute work of art.

Thanks for getting it. This was our series concept that we were shopping around. Wanted to tell a story, and as long as it hits home with a couple people, I think we did OK. Thanks for watching!

Rough on the trout. They aren’t bass.

Hello Ketch! Ok, I love the poetry of your video and all of us had some type of learning curve to endure, with regard to handling trout. Frankly, I love the piece you produced and its work you should be proud of. Yes, the handling mistakes were evident, but you clarified the "newbie" status of your friends and handling etiquette is now improved. Look forward to more good things from your channel!!

Thanks for the understanding. I did see a lot of this as we were working on the video. The writer and primary angler we followed had only ever had great lakes trout and salmon fishing experience, and that's primarily a meat fishery. They actually all got really good by the end of the trip, but we only had good weather on the very first day, so most of the footage is from the start of the trip. Caught 10" of rain followed by a blizzard. We still fished, but the footage was not really usable. We did fish barbless the whole time, and by the last day they were all wetting their hands and handling the fish like pros. We'll actually be headed back down to Arkansas again this spring. Gonna chase some walleye and smallies... such a beautiful state to fish!

@@KetchOutdoors Wow, what a tough trip, but glad to hear you're coming back!! I'm in south Louisiana and will fish the White three to four times each year and it's become my favorite spot. Travel safe and keep putting out great content!!

A net and good trout handling practice would have been nice 😔

A little patience would also be nice... This was a group of mostly bass anglers with little to no experience trout fishing. They were learning, and they had to do it on camera.

Oh so they mishandle bass too.. smh nice excuse 👌

@@dominicmontoya5603 That's not at all what I said. They fish for a different species, so they were just learning proper handling of trout. We catch what we catch on video. They were learning... is everyone that trout fishes so critical of beginners?

At the time I type this the White River is not and never has been the home of the world, or even Arkansas state, record brown trout. The Little Red River holds this distinction. The 40lb Brown was caught by "RIP" Collins.
The Little Red is smaller and to the South of the White near Heber Springs, AR.

The Norfork River previously held the world record before the record was broken by the guy at the Little Red River.

Too much poetry. It’s just fishing.

Plenty of over-writing in this adjective-heavy piece. But then, that's been the worn-out, copycat method since the dawn of anglers' love affair with "A River Runs trough It." But at least that narrative was about a family drama interspersed with fly-fishing native species, a sport which I suppose one could get away with trying to make sound more mysterious and elegant than it really is. The over-romanticized "wordsy-ness" in this video doesn't sound suited to hauling in stocked trout in artificially-cooled waters from a jon or kayak on conventional spinning gear.

No one's forcing you to watch or contemplate words or ideas you're uncomfortable with, but thanks for watching I guess...

Your comment was what I would call over-writing with all of your “wordy-ness” nonsense. There is a simple solution to your problem. Don’t watch their videos. Move on.
