- Already got a video of this thing up the hill into New Cross, but that was near empty. It's fully loaded here, and struggles a lot more. Either limp mode or a fuel pump restriction like Abellio's LJ09 Enviros.
This bus was serving route 321 from Foots Cray, Tesco to New Cross Gate.
Operator: Go-Ahead London (London Central)
Fleetnumber: E63
Registration: LX57CHY
Chassis: Alexander Dennis Trident
Body: Alexander Dennis Enviro400
Gearbox: ZF Ecomat 5-speed

BMW M FAN NJ ikr and cheers
E63 was one of the ones I weren't too fond of.
I'd get excited when it roars, as it often did, but that was about it. E63 was the oddball of the batch, for me. Even E65 was okay, with 62 and 66 overshadowing all.
I could never get kick out of E65 except for a couple of times at BX. Nowadays though it's E67 that's the crap one, entirely as a result of its little trip up to NP...
How am I only hearing the ZF on this bus now, after a whole year of this thing at NX?
Musical though, at least.
Deffo Limp.. the abellio ones pull of slow and sluggish but get going after about 30mph
Whats limp mode exactly again?
I could say for hybrids, but not sure for diesels...
I guess when it accelerates slower than usual, like when an Enviro200 has low AdBlue. Think about when humans limp; we don't exactly move very fast. lol
Most of these terms that people have made for buses are personifications.
Think it's when the emissions light comes on the dash the bus gose into limp (safe) mode, or even if the Adblue is not working right the bus gose slow..
Yeah, that seems sensible, though all it really means is that they probably should take the bus off-road and sort it out, rather than let poor buses struggle like this.
Yeah it's basically what Paul said. Most garages can't be arsed to top the AdBlue tanks up, or to clean gunk out of the radiator fan when it gets dirty. I think it's a combination of both here, E63 tends to get really hot on a good day.
