How does it compare to other brands top of the range mast. Is it the benchmark for other brands to aspire to - or just too high a price pain point to be commercial enough?

I feel it would be unfair to use something unobtainable by most people as a bench mark.
But It does rate very highly when compared with other options and I’d imagine brands will aspire to its tech stats.
It’s fast, loose, efficient, direct and super stiff.
So stiff that it’s worth noting not everyone will enjoy this mast as it increases all feedback and control to be hyper sensitive.
Some people like a little dampening

It’s strong, definitely not for most.
Lucky they do a great standard carbon and high modulus carbon option with is more ‘affordable’

Pretty mad.
I hoped the gains were not as noticeable, but you for sure feel it.
Not for most with that price tag, but special for the fortunate ones who can.
Luckily Their HM model mast is great too

No way, the whole axis power carbon range are great. The HM model is an industry bench mark, cannot fault it one bit and anyone would be happy to own one.
This Ultra HM models takes performance to a new high which was otherwise not available. The price tags alone makes it not for everyone, but true to brand - Axis does make something for everyone.
This is for either elite level performance or extra kudos on the beach
