Bet you weren't expecting this one, since we've been checking out a lot of classics, we thought we'd review something a little different with some new actors that we had never reviewed on the channel such as 'Ranveer Singh' & 'Alia Bhatt.
This is also a really interesting movie since it is not only full of music with an interesting music score but also it gives us somewhat of an insight into the ever growing urban genre of India.

Kalki Koechlin (the one who played Sky) was born and raised her whole life in India, but she actually is fully white! That's why you feel she looks foreign. Tbf India is so diverse that a lot of people didn't know that she isn't ethnically Indian. She is French, and also a French citizen by nationality. Her parents converted to Hinduism and moved to India before she was born.
Fun fact - she is a direct descendant of a structural engineer partly responsible for designing and building the Eiffel Tower!

Ranveer was phenomenal but for me Alia and Siddhant stole the show.

You two are going to be a die hard fan of hers once you start watching these films...
These all are absolute MUST WATCH for you two..
this movie is about one of the best rapper in indian '" DIVINE " and at 16:00 is kr$na , he is a great rapper both in hindi and english and amny of the names are real , and one of the judges is the best female rapper , RAJA KUMARI she raps in english , and she is fireeeeeeeeeeeee
It is not about divine, the movie was inspired from the life of rapper naezy and divine, majorly naezy.

I feel the film is a masterpiece in its own ways. I would not tell you what the film is all about. And, I would also request you to not read the synopsis ,if you do not know about the film - just the watch the film and learn everything hands-on :D
Just to inform and making you aware so that you are not uncomfortable, it has a lot of cursing, violence and intimacy.
If you could watch Omkara that would be really great. It's one of the best in Hindi cinema.

But in the film, it's Murad who is a fan of Sher.
Great contrast.
Also he (Sher) was asked to be cool like a big cat, and he asked tiger or Lion 🦁.. hence the Sher swagger

Alia & ranveer were phenomenal as they were out of their comfort zones doing characters very different to who they are.murad is a real person but safina was fictional.the accents were hard to do too but i think they were decent.dharavi is the largest slum in the world & slumdog m. was shot there too.qala is very dark so be aware.watch hum dil de chuke sanam as its romantic with aishwarya & salman & its music is great.its sanjay l.bhansali.

This movie really bought forward the rap scene in the country especially in Mumbai. also some of the tracks on these albums are so beautiful not just sound wise but lyrically as well. wish you knew the language so you could get the intensity and depth of those lyrics more . also the background tracks in some places is not a weird choice if you take a look at the lyrics also the kind of poetry that is born in different parts of india and every street of cities like Mumbai being the most diverse cultures we have. it's very essence of the "Gully " the movie revolves around.
7:39 Guys go ahead, its a green flag for RRKPK! Rocky Rani ki Prem Kahani translates to Rocky and Rani's Love Story. It's a refreshing modernist bollywood movie with great songs (Arijit & Shreya!) which explores a fun banter between a lavish Punjabi family and a cultured (West) Bengali family
You guys should watch ✨Mohabattein ✨ next. It has SRK as music teacher who came to Gurukul to change the rules and helped 3 students with their love stories (which was forbidden in Gurukul). It also has Aishwarya in it. Its songs are also really good. Please do watch it. Its one of the best movies I have ever seen.

Love this film. I think you may have misunderstood Sky. She's a great character and also the only character (aside from the Mum) in the entire film that didn't actually do anything wrong (vandalising aside lol)

It made sense when I watched it in theatre though, just because it's a hip hop movie doesn't mean you need to overload the whole movie with just hip hop songs. You need to understand the fact that this movie oiled the fire to whole hip hop scene so the movie needed to be relevant to all the non hip hop listeners also since classical and bollywood is widely accepted here if that makes sense.

Divine cameo-ed as the announcer in the last stage performance and so did raja kumari and kr$na in the earlier scenes. Alia is a phenomenal actress, you should check out more of her work. Highly recommend Gangubai!

Wow, interesting film choice. It's a very good film. Also Alia is the best actress in this generation. She gets a lot of hate online since she is a nepo kid, but she deserves the spot and is genuinely a very good actress. She even won a national award for her acting in Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Alia is a fantastic actress. I actually didn't care for her when i first saw her in Student of the year, but the movie Udta Punjab changed my mind and made me fall in love with her. I also used to feel the same about Kareena until i saw Jab We Met and i fell in love with her. You should react to Udta Punjab. Kareena, Shahid, Alia, and even the musician Diljit gave great performances in that. It's also not your typical love/melodramatic Bollywood film, it's a great story about a very important topic that affects societies around the world.
Next movie should be Queen or English Vinglish ❤

All the music in the movie makes perfect sense because it is an Indian movie and the movie sensibilities related to it.
you know there were a lot of original rappers in the movie, they featured all the actual rappers for whom this movie was made on.
