So I'm back with a cover.. I actually really just wanted to focus more on putting out originals now, but this was just too good to pass on. I came across Olivia Rodrigo on HSMTMTS (High School Musical is my jam and when I heard about this show, I got curious and decided to check it out) a couple months ago, and when this song hit the charts, I didn't realize it was her at first until I saw her on Tiktok. After a few spins, this song, like everyone else, stuck with me so I decided to do my own take on it, but with a twist. Her sincerity and truth are what makes this track a masterpiece, and it's so inspiring. ♡
So here is my own vocal rendition of the heart wrenching hit, Drivers License.

when i first heard this version, i was so into it that i only realized after seeing reaction videos that there was no music accompaniment. i didnt realize that it was an acapella. i thought that was the real version of it and that there was music in my head but i was just focusing on her voice. but it was just actually her voice and nothing else. and that got me into trance.

Wow!! The only artist I know who can sit and sing a perfect tone, high notes, long notes flawlessly. Most artist has to stand up and have to force the note or can’t do it at all. 👍🏼
Just compared this to the original and amazing how Morissette cleans up the one part and adds her own ache. With the perfect break in her voice. I don’t know her personally so curious if she wants more than she has or is very happy with her beautiful life with David. She’s still young but I wonder what her management company does to pitch in America. Let’s hope the pandemic gets some closure and she can tour with other talented Filipinos and young artists in America. I was stunned with rise up and never enough on the wish bus. She keeps delivering and her voice is perfection. Talent and training and working your craft.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Granted that belting and whistling are great tools that Morissette owns. BUT what makes her exceptional and sets her apart from other artists is her ability to flawlessly use amazing vocal dynamics without losing her ability to convey powerful emotions. Mori is blessed.

The only thing I hate about this is the fact that it has lesser views than it should have because of a lot of reaction videos. 😔 Instead of watching the original video, many viewers tend to watch it on another channel. I just hope that these reactors can wait until the original video reaches more views first, like 100k or more before they make their reaction video. Though, I’m happy that a lot of them recognize Mori which actually shows how impressed they are about her talent, but this really saddens me.

This performance of hers is like a masterpiece cover--the raspiness that she added in her voice to certain notes is like a description of a woman shouting out her sorrow and love for the guy till her voice becomes raucous, but Mori did it in a very nice way of delivery.

I'm probably one of the few that hasn't heard the original a ton of times, which I like in this instance. The phrase "Less is More" on display here! JUST raw vocals , the softest hum of traffic, stripped styling, (cause ladies is this not the quintessential break up uniform?) and we're all feeling like we just got dumped too!
