@@Dosemen nope, not at all, been listening to death metal for like four years and I have listened to a lot of bands, still, the intro riff is one of the most visceral and heavy riffs I have ever heard. It's not about how fast it is or something, it just sounds brutal and heavy.

God damn I love the production of Corpse albums. Mostly the Bleeding onward, but ESPECIALLY their last 4 or so albums. The guitar and bass tones work so well together to create what I consider to be one of the heaviest sounds in Death Metal today. Probably the only band I can think of that has had a super consistently great sound on pretty much every album. That says a lot considering they span 3 decades and have put out a lot of material. This band is timeless and is reliable as far as keeping it fresh, but not changing shit to where you don't instantly recognize it as Corpse.

The cover art for Kill actually was done in time, the band just wasn’t all that pleased over the original art Vince made. They reduced the cover to the bottom-left corner piece with ‘KILL’ in the middle.

I really like this song, the slow entrance that builds up and then changes to death/trash fast style with amazing guitar work from Pat and Rob. And the low-budget, 70s Bmovie vibe from the video just makes everything better.

However, Cannibal Corpse is only known to metal veterans and old school souls. If you ask someone who listens to, for example, disturbed or SOAD, they'll have no idea who CC are.

Man. I haven't heard these guys in a while. Now that they wrote a new song, I still remember them in the good old days when I was younger. My first song by Cannibal Corpse was Make Them Suffer off of the 2006 record Kill.
Cannibal Corpse is the top of the Death Metal food chain. The music isn't groundbreaking or as technically proficient as the new stuff coming out, but it hits fucking hard.

The Death Metal scene is kicking more ass than ever this year, you've got Six Feet Under, Dying Fetus, Obituary and now Cannibal Corpse putting out some of their best sounding music in years. Add on top of that Napalm Deaths Apex Predator that I'm still blasting and this is picking up steam.
