Possibly intentional as the golf 7s especially the gtds looked better than most a3s out there. New golf 8 isnt too bad looking just the front takes some getting used to this time generation for generation this is head and shoulders nicer to look at.

I have that same stuff in my S4 (2020) and the whole search and voice system of audi is trash. Apart from it just failing to recognize ANY voice AT ALL randomly until you stop and start the car, to failing to tunnel through any phone call through bluetooth, to returning absurd search results... but the image recognition is working fine :)

CARWOW WOW! I am very impressed. When I first clocked eyes on one I thought it looked longer, and with the lower roofline it'll seem longer still. I look forward to seeing the long awaited S3 now. I'll be sticking to my 2018 S3 for a while though, but def would consider the 2020 S3. It gets both thumbs up from me Matt

no, its many german brands that have been choosing Portugal for a long time now. many big reviewerrs have already been to Portugal several times because of these german brands, not all but many, and not to all their cars but many. i think Volkswagen group has been the one to xhoose Portugal the most, with Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen and even a skoda. Estoril circuit has been used many times because of that

What happens if you don’t have one & drive into another state that requires you to have one?
Doublethink not a problem. I lived in Missouri which required front and back plates but I was right on the border with Kansas that only needed a rear one. I also lived in Florida which only has rear plates and there you must go into a parking bay forwards so the plate can be seen by police as they pass.

I actually think Audi has pretty much nailed it with the car. Of course we'll have to wait for performance tests and sound but
- the outside styling is really nice
- the new inside layout is gorgeous, modern and FINALLY they got some good old handy buttons back instead of the touch buttons
- the infotainment is top class and connectivity is good
- seems comfy and the back windows go all the way down
- pretty good boot space because it's a hatchback.
The engine choices seem pretty much alright and I love that you can choose a manual gearbox (hopefully for all engine specs)!!
No manual option for the A3 in Australia these days 😭

Most luxury brand compact cars looked dorky and like a vehicle people would get who couldn't get their aspirational vehicle, but this is actually a car that looks nice by itself. Good job Audi! If this were to come stateside, I would probably consider it.

Generally the case with the Audi brand. They're the brand you'd aspire to move up to if you like VWs but want more performance and premium presentation.
I agree though I think i still prefer the A Class design over all of them. Just wish Audi would stop using fake vents all together...

@@Jeroenneman I've driven the previous 1liter 3 cylinder with 115bhp, it's very good, smooth, accelerates nicely, quiet no complaints about the engine despite what it says on paper

It looks really nice specially the interior, it is nicer than the old A3 but i like the old too because it looks more aggressive when you design it really good

Looks good. Surprised at the amount of styling and kit on bog standard a3. Front look a little like my rs3 saloon. Looking forward to the new rs3, let’s hope they give it some nice styling.

Wow wow wow! Audi nailed it. I own a 2015 A3. It was hard to beat that, but they did. I will say that it's not quite enough to get me to upgrade, but it is damn close! Way to go Audi. The car is awesome.

absolutely, if we look at the car like at a stand still object, it looks nice...only when you start driving the car you start to dislike a little bit here ( the engines ) and a little bit there ( the gearboxes )..everything else is fine ..it's a luxurious place to take a nap
