Been retired now for over 14 years, 65 now, waiting for my state pension next year. My advice is to stop work as soon as you can. Never looked back ! Your own life starts that day you leave. Where next ? Castleton is nice, there last week, really enjoyed it. C&M Club site.

We walked along the beach to North Berwick and Luna loved the sand. The site position was great for access to the beach. Hope you have fun planning your next trip! Cheers Trev and Sue

£35.50 used to be the price for a room in a B&B or a cheap small hotel, that’s a crazy price for a bit of grass for a night in Scotland! Everyone’s grifting these days for a much as they can extract. No wonder people stealth van life it.

Ah Yellowcraig, we stayed there when we hired a motorhome in September 2020 and seemed to have selected the pitch the furthest away from the EHU point and had to move the motorhome to reach 😀. Roxy loved the beach - wow treasure island - I remember looking and wondering how to get to the island! We didn’t walk into North Berwick (one for another time!) - there was a lovely pub in the village before you go down the road to Yellowcraig which we had a nice meal at. Stayed at the same campsite a couple of weeks later. Same problem all the hard standing was booked grass only with EHU. Excellent site - probs an 8/10 from me. Fantastic set of vlogs from you guys so nice to see you visiting a few familiar places and a few I will be visiting.

We were just talking this morning about not renewing our Camping membership as we hardly use it and the prices are so expensive. I think £35.50 club price on grass that is soggy and uneven is a rip off.
Yes we thought that was too much for the soggy muddy part that we were parked on. Glad you enjoyed our trip 👍👍👍

You talking of how you saved for your campervan, my dear Auntie Bessie at the grand old age of 97 left me money in her will, I knew I wanted a van and sat on it for a couple of years and then started the search, I found a Caravelle attached but beautiful I’m calling it Bessy Bus after my dear Auntie ❤

We stayed at Yellowcraog at Easter. One of my favourite sites. The dog walking is excellent and I love some of the places you visited in North Berwick. The last time I visited here, I saw a taxi from Barnsley. Great video.

We love Scotland but that's a pricey campsite as are most sites in the UK ! We are currently in Estratit Spain paying 15 euro per night with electricity and a beach that the doggies are allowed on. 20 minutes from a vet that will issue a pet passport 😊

Hi Guys ,,yes a bit uneven,,£35 a night ,,is a lot ,,I can better that I was walking a section off the S W Coastal path April last year from Weymouth to wool in Dorset ,,I found a campsite in wool right next to a Railway line..it was Caravans and tents ,,I was charged £36 ,,to pitch a one man tent ,,no electric for one night 🤔😃I said that was a lot ,and she said it’s peak season 😀the best part was about 1 30 in the morning some yobbo tried to pull my tent ⛺️ down they said they have problems with the council estate with youths jumping over the fence ,,got £5 back in the morning 😀Take care Stewart Wiltshire

Great video series! We've been to all the other areas on your tour (and most of the sites) but we haven't yet been to Yellowcraig as we tend to head off up the West side of Scotland. It looks fantastic so we'll be adding it to our (long) list of places to visit. There's something about being on the coast by the sea that has a special appeal for us as well. I look forward to seeing where you're heading off to next.

Sea swimming is good i used to when i lived in Hornsea at the Bucket and Spade, i used to swim every day from the summer throughin to winter , as long as you do every day you dont notice how cold it gets, but if you miss it for a week or so itsvery hard to get back in to it BRRRRRRRRR!!!

That was beautiful that little poem at the end it actually gave me a tear...you could maybe try the Moray coast for your next trip you wont be disappointed its just along from where we live and are often up the Moray coast somewhere for short trips at weekends etc, often see dolphins whales seals,research it and see what you think..theres lotsnof coastal walks going from 1 fishing village to the next think it's fficially called 6 harbour walk or something starting at Cullen where the official worlds best cullen skink holds the title as you would expect hahaha but we just cant see past that area think you would enjoy the RAF jets at lossiemouth right on the west beach side..think I've just talked myself into a weekend along there somewhere haha

@@Stchristopherofatlantis absaloutly..if there is anything we can help with just ask, we are in Fraserbugh with a stunning beach we have a huge working harbour and a few fish shops where you will get the freshest haddock and langoustine probably in the world I think we are still the largest shellfish port in europe but you would get that anywhere up the Moray coast there is loads of villages and hamlets to turn off to with many of them having coastal roads..just beautiful...oh and love all your videos you guys are hilarious, A' the best ti yis (doric for all the best to you) that's the language we speak haha

Absolutely loved this vlog . Love North Berwick , stopped at Dunbar last time we went just further down the coast but find it hard to go back too soon as our late dog died a month after last going and it brings back too many memories 🥲Yellowcraig beach looked fab, not been there , looked really good for our new dog due to her balance problem as really flat . Next time you go try Seacliff beach near to Tantallon beach . You two will do for me as can see you’ve become a big fan of Scotland ( it’s great 👍) and you played Elbow one of our favourite groups . Andrew you are not just a pretty face , brilliant poem at end x

Dora says - " Horses, look at those horses, I've always wanted to meet horses - actually I think I will hide behind mum's legs". Seriously the cutest thing I've seen on CZcams.

It’s terrible the prices they want to charge you when you are actually fully self sufficient. I payed less that that for 3 nights on a beautiful campsite in Portugal. We get totally ripped off in this country
Portugal sounds fantastic. Did you drive all the way there in the van?
We got the ferry from Dover to Calais and drove through France and Spain to Portugal, although next year we will get the 20 hour ferry to Santander. If you go out of season buy the camping card you get the sites at a reduced rate very cheap compared to British prices. It’s the best adventure I’ve ever been on it’s fantastic in a motorhome. Europe is fantastic especially in the motorhome makes you realise how expensive British camp sites are and let’s be honest chances are you get peed on and your wallet robed the prices are so ridiculous. In Europe the majority of sites are greatly priced especially off season and your more or less guaranteed sun. ☀️

If you think that’s expensive try sundrum castle 156 pounds for a three night stay the pinch was on the service ith a slope so bad I couldn’t get the caravan level he fully serviced pitch was 226 pounds for a three night stay 😡

Returning to UK on business for a month then off to Spain to buy my own MH.
Then just plan on exploring Spain until I find the house I want to buy.
Then ill use that as my spring board to really examine Europe.
Luckily I have British and Irish Passports so visas aren't an issue.
So thats the retirement plan sorted.

Lovely end to the tour, lobster meh, shiphams salmon paste butty every time 😂, campsite was expensive but it’s a means to an end and without that stop you’d have missed the opportunity, silver linings my friends. Andy seems to have taken over the interesting facts, why, love Claire giving those fab facts, maybe the big lad needs to take a turn at cooking 🤷♂️. ❤

Love your channel. We’ve been watching for a few months now and the quality of your videos are great. Especially the content and the way you work together.
I am trying out a friend’s GoPro at the moment and being a newbie to video I am experimenting with settings etc.
I just wondered what camera you guys use, is there somewhere on your channel that lists you equipment.
I know it’s not all about your equipment, but how you use it 😂
But a lot of the filming you do is stunning. Keep up the good work 👍
Hi Gary, thanks for watching us we really appreciate it.
We’ve experimented with different gear over the last year and a bit and spent our CZcams earnings trying to better it. Everything has its plus and minus’s. We’ve used go pros and they are great for stabilising footage and are small so they can go in your pocket. One problem we found with them is that they aren’t very good in low light and they take a while to turn on so you can miss things when you’re out and about.
We bought a really good Sony camera but found it too big and heavy to walk round with, plus it wasn’t very easy to hide in the more dodgy areas.
At the moment we are using the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It ticks most of the boxes. You’ve got 3 lenses, good battery and the colours and image quality are really good. They have built in stabilisation which is good. If you want it smoother you can use an Insta360 gimbal like we’ve started using. Hopefully you’ll see the difference in our videos that use it in a few weeks time.
Audio is a big area. We use Hollyland wireless mics that plug into the iPhone.
For editing we use Davinci Resolve. There is a free version which is brilliant but we bought the paid version which has extra features. We then had to upgrade our computer to run it 😂.
We’ve reinvested all of our money we’ve earned on CZcams into the kit and video production to try and get it as good as we can. We are always learning and changing gear but I think we will be using the iPhone for a while to come. We could have saved a lot of money by going straight to them but you live and learn.
We hope you get into making videos, we genuinely love the process.

Funnily enough I was mirroring some of the GoPro footage on to my TV last night after watching you guys. Then did the same with my older iPhone and I thought the iPhone looked better.
I just need a newer iPhone with more spare storage and more money 🤣

I’m definitely getting the impression that the CC membership is a swizz. You should be getting discounted prices, not inflated ones. You’re paying a lot of money for the ability to book online. That grass pitch was a disgrace for the price you paid. I think I’d be tempted to give my money to independent sites.
