I'm watching this while sitting under my ceiling fan that has four light bulb sockets. Am I crazy to imagine having the fan going with one of these socket fans screwed into all four of the light bulb sockets to create some super vortex tornado force that can cause the Earth's rotation to go in reverse or create enough force to lift my entire house off its foundation and send me flying through the air...
I understand what you are implying. Just put your address in the comments and maybe the general populace will start sending you cash to keep you from throwing us all off into deep space. On second thought? Maybe we are already in deep space and your plan will send us all home. Carry on with the fan placement, I'm willing to accept either scenario.
My house is 100 years old. Most urban homes were built with those light sockets. Thanks for the video. I am going to buy it for my son’s bedroom, probably the size of a wooden shed I suppose. 👍🏻
Love the socket fanlight…. I ordered two and BOTH didn’t come with the extension !!! I’ve tried calling numbers for a parts replacement…. NOTHING !!!! Any connections so they can send me out the two missing extensions. THANK YOU !!
I got mine from Amazon and it came with a socket extension and if you have prime, you just return it or call your bank for your refund and tell them them it didn’t come with the parts that is supposed to
I guess I'm the first and only one to notice the fan spins clockwise, righty-tighty. That means the startup torque will make the base spin counterclockwise, lefty-loosy, and will unscrew after a few dozen starts.
@@WizardOfWhoopee hasn’t fell off yet, do you have a timeframe for your expertise comment? Just asked because I’m still waiting for it to come off? Maybe the others that actually have the fan have comments similar to yours……. Though I doubt it
Do you need the remote? I’m hoping that if I have a certain setting for the light/fan, then turn off the unit with the switch, then turn it back on it will remember the setting it was on. I don’t like to use remotes.
i mean its only 50 dollars and its pretty small but im imagining its better than my 1 speed 3 bladed 16 or 17 inch portable ceiling fan thats missing a blade and i never was able to use it thanks to that
Don't know if you know but most regular ceiling mounted fans have a reverse fan switch. One direction draws air up for summer to circulate the hot air, and the other pushes it down to bring down the hot air. for the winter.
You can leave the wall swith on all the time and use the remote for the fan and light power. You can have all power on or just the fan or light. There's 3 settings for each, at least on mine.
I agree. Light temperature/color temperature is important to a lot of people. That why I think this would be best used in a shed or a situation where lighting is more utility than for a living space like a bathroom or family room.
I'd guess 50% of garages out there still have them, unless someone switches them out for outlets to hang LED shop lights. And almost every house recently built has recessed lighting - these will pop right into those 😁 I get what you're saying though... THAT (surface-mount) style socket inside your home is hardly as common anymore.
You cannot replace it. It's an LED strip inside. The good news is that it should have a modern driver and some people estimate them to last up to 20 years.
It doesn’t go counter clock wise so the air goes up and not down… unless somebody can tell me how to switch it to counter clockwise where the air will shoot downward anyone?? Thanks for any help. That so far is the biggest Con…
They need to make one with a pass through bulb socket so the consumer can choose the fancy bulb they want instead of having to settle for a 3500K glare with terrible color rendering.
I've been an electrician for 30 years and I would caution anyone from using this. Ceiling fixtures are generally not designed for the extra weight and the torque.
@@jonbee5780 My comment doesn't make sense? I can only explain it to you, I can't understand it for you. I have been an electrician for 32 years. The reason why we have codes (like the NEC) and listing agencies (like UL) are for safety. Ceiling fans require a rated box for that application because of weight, torque load and especially vibration. A standard fixture was not designed or approved for this purpose. Light bulbs don't produce torque, and they don't produce vibrations. If this is truly difficult for you to understand, I would suggest that spent some time doing research instead of commenting on CZcams. Just an idea
@@timmack2415 I have the fucking fan already so your comment about your years of being a professional doesn’t apply to this, I don’t need an education on becoming an electrician!

Probably about the same size mine was back in the 80's. Thanks for watching!
Tha fart joke got a laugh out of me .
Hahaha! Thanks John!
I have been wanting to try one of those out
Just keep adding lights to the house until its all lit up 🤣
I didn’t have a ceiling fan installed in a small spare room intended for storage but now use for craft room. This might be perfect.
Sounds like a great idea!
It even works on a lamp just to keep the air circulating..
The problem is that it only blows hot air down.. no reverse.
Awesome video! Thanks for making it! Will the fan run with the light setting turned off? (Sorry if this is a stupid question!!)
Yes it will. Thanks for watching!

It alright does it's job but only in small bathroom like areas.
Exactly right!
My bedroom doesn't have a standard light socket, it's a different one that has two sideways ones. How would I even install it on my ceiling??
Change out the light socket. I bought one for $3.00 at Sammons.
I guess I'm the first and only one to notice the fan spins clockwise, righty-tighty. That means the startup torque will make the base spin counterclockwise, lefty-loosy, and will unscrew after a few dozen starts.

Is this device listed? All electrical devices need to be listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory. UL, ETL, or other.
On the device it says it meets UL standards and it has the ETL symbol printed on it. Thanks for watching!
I'm looking at my hallway now if blades are 16in 16 from base now base takes up not to much space so I think a15
Does the fan automatically turn on when powered? My ceiling light is powered by a wall switch and I don’t want the fan part coming on every time

I just picked this one up. I like the fan part. But im not happy with the light part. I dont like the color the light pits out or glare that it makes.
I agree. Light temperature/color temperature is important to a lot of people. That why I think this would be best used in a shed or a situation where lighting is more utility than for a living space like a bathroom or family room.
Yeah, I figure next year they will have an upgrade to the fan where you can choose between this horrible white light and a "warmer" light
I just got one for my bathroom and it doesn’t blow any air barely Works
How many people have light sockets on their ceilings these days?
Common in older houses.

And almost every house recently built has recessed lighting - these will pop right into those 😁 I get what you're saying though... Does this thing work with a dimmer switch?
I don't think so.
Can you turn the light off and keep the fan on?
Yes. And they work great.
If the bulb goes out can you replace it
You cannot replace it. It's an LED strip inside. The good news is that it should have a modern driver and some people estimate them to last up to 20 years.
Yes
The blades aren't long enough to make it cooler. Maybe if it has longer blades?
Maybe they will make one like that. Soon I hope.
@@tonysreviews but maybe if the blades were longer, it would create more force and it wouldn't be as stable.
Im afraid if the light bulb gets loose from the vibration and then the thing will fall on my head, and face, I will look like Manual Noriega.
Or even worse Imelda Marcos. Don't take any chances! Thanks for watching!

Same problem. Mine blows up not down.
Does this come with batteries or do you need any?
No batteries necessary. Thanks for watching!
Dear Lord! Why would it need batteries if it's going into a light socket? 😮😮😮😮
I don’t have a spot for my socket fan so I just put it in my room (which is my closet)
Sounds like a good place for it! Thanks for watching!

Get a solid ceramic socket. It weighs 2 and a half punda or so right? So... it might be okay if you mount it with some solid screws, and no wiggle.
