Very cool ceiling fan and light too! Thanks for sharing.
I just bought one of these last week and it works great! It's got power, the breeze covers the whole room nicely at this time of year.
Can you reverse the direction the fan spins in?
@@JaneDoe-tm2ex Unfortunately no. It just has the 3-speed setting.
@@TurquoiseStar17 Aw man thank you for the reply
I like it and think it's worth way more than $50. Think about it: It has a 5000k led light with 3 different light options. And a fan with 3 different speeds. With a Remote, a remote mount and an adapter which will allow it to hang if it's too close to your ceiling. So yea totally worth it and way cheaper and more convenient than installing a ceiling fan. Fact'ts!!!
Can you adjust the blades to reverse for the winter?
There are less expensive wired fans, however the advantage here is that this fan is light enough not require a reinforced work box.
Had no idea these were a thing, going to HD today and grabbing one for my shed.
I bought two of those and they work great, btw I been watching your videos for 7 years now and I love watching your vids man!!!
Definitely a brushless motor. And interestingly enough there is a model with the warm white light, but it’s harder to find.
I only wish those fans came with the option of soft white light instead of daylight. I see enough of daylight/cool light at my office, I don't want to see it in my house. If there's a way to get inside that cover and change the LEDs I'd do it.
They would be good for use with 20V Batteries and an Inverter or a generator for power outages or camping. I think their main use aside from being used in areas that dont already have a Fan/Light combo would be attics, garages, so on.
DC Motor Fans do that on start up to calibrate the blades and make sure everything is balanced.
There is a 3500K version of the Socket Fanlight as well, so if you don’t like the 5000K there is another option. It would be nice if there was a 2700K or 3000K version though. It would be interesting if they included some kind of replaceable bulb rather than integrated LED. If they made it out of metal/glass instead of plastic, a halogen bulb would be interesting, but that would probably be too heavy for a light socket.
I'm leaning toward a brushless DC motor both due to the price point (I'm hoping that's why the price is so high), and the strange effects on startup. Brushless motors *can* have strange start up artifacts like that depending on how well the controller is implemented. A quick test would be to with the fan (and the socket) off, try to slowly rotate the fan backwards. If it stops, it is synchronous, if it allows you to rotate backwards, it is brushless DC! The startup at 13:28 leads me to lean toward brushless as a synchronous motor will either start backwards or go full speed ahead, not stumble before going forward on startup.
I think so too. Many years ago I bought the first model of brushless motors for RC cars and on the initial out of the box firmware it would sometimes take off backwards for a moment and then correct itself.
Later it was fixed and I never noticed it again.
Definitely brushless, synchronous motors make a rattling sound upon startup.
It definitely is, was playing around with one at work while putting it up for display and you can feel the individual poles in the motor when you turn the blades by hand
@@brynnond.6952 What doesn’t make sense is the lack of advertising of that fact. It almost immediately justifies the price and brushless DC is a big selling point on energy conservation in consumer fans.
It sounds like the spindle motor in a DVD player.
Would you recommend this fan/light for a 2 car garage in Nevada?
Hunter should make an Original-styled 4-bladed screw-in ceiling fan with a round schoolhouse light kit
I would check the level on the ceiling socket. I leveled mine and the wobble went away.
Can you reverse the direction the fan spins in?
No
The wobble was probably because you didn't have it screwed in all the way tightly. Because I've seen other people videos where there's didn't wobble. Unless yours is defective.
Interesting little thing.
I'm surprised a big store would sell a product that uses a light socket for "off label" uses in this era of litigation and liability coverage.
I saw your video and got these yesterday for my unfinished basement to help with air flow along with the dehumidifier. They work great. Thank you for your assessment on this. Got them @ Walmart made for TV isle.
I guess I'm the first and only one to notice the fan spins clockwise, righty-tighty. That means the startup torque will make the base spin counterclockwise, lefty-loosy, and will unscrew after a few dozen starts.
If anyone is wondering there are 3000k versions if the 5000k is too harsh. Emson is the original manufature of a socket fan
11:39 I got supposed about that to and my mom we thought it wasn't gonna be that useful be truns out it is lol
Oh man! That's insanely cool! I can kick myself in the behind too! A few months ago the local Wal*Mart had those on clearance sale for $29.97 Well, me being cheap I skipped on it thinking 30 bucks was too much for a novelty item. And I just thought of something! How cool would 3 of these look mounted in a running ceiling fan on it's light kit? That would be quite something to see. 😁
but can you easily change the 5000 Coll LED lamp for a Warm White lamp?
I might try one of these out in the future
i dont understand plastic caps on e27 bases, i got some 3 way splitters that had them too and it seems like a complete waste to manufacture
My fan works but not the light. How do you replace the light?
13:53 I’m not sure what the base code is where you live, but in Australia, the main 2 are b22 (bayonet) and e27 (Edison) and b22 are used everywhere for fixed sockets that don’t move, and e27 are only really used in lamps or felling fans or angled sockets for some light fixtures. If this was a thing here, they would wobble like CRAZY with a b22 socket 😂
The base code here is E26.
I wonder if there is some kind of adapter one could use for a socket that is at an angle (where there are 2 or three light bulbs attached)
I don't have a socket , can it be home with a swag kit and plugged in
Just saw The TV ad for it and it's now $60, though you can get a second one for $30.
We bought this but even on High we feel NO air !
That’s because it’s going clock wise it needs to go counter clockwise…the question is why doesn’t it have a switch to go counter clockwise? It would give off a lot more breeze.
nice
Daylight is definitely good for garage and shop applications but for in the home I feel it is too “commercial “ and harsh
There are two versions. The local Walmart stocks only the warm white version, but cool white may be ordered for next day pick-up.
It's good for a bathroom
How do you take out the blade
I bought two and love them
Is there a way to turn on fan without remote if Misplaced or broken?
saw your vid yesterday and today went to LOWES to get one / Lowes Canada does NOT stock them in my town and I had to go to Home Depot and get one
have an old house and installed it at the top of the stairs to blow air down the stairs and it works well
whereabouts did you get this? thanks :)
This one was found at Lowe's.
What do you do when the light goes out in one of these? We have two in our garage that were here when we moved in and one has gone out. It seems that you have to replace the entire unit and not just a lightbulb. Whoever built the house put these in the garage and they are up around 18' in one part of the garage so you can't reach it with a regular ladder. And if it ever had a remote, the remote has disappeared.
You have to take a rock and throw at the fan to knock it down.
What was Charizard and Blastoise doing there
I want to multiple of these on a fan with a light fixture that has 2 or more sockets
I got one as a gift for my birthday
I got one of these babies a month ago and it’s pretty good!
I think they may have sold them without the extender at first.
How to take blades off. Is it possible. I need to put in luggage and was not able to remove it to travel
I'm running to the store for 1.. I
love TV specials ....
Nice produkt. But memory for settings are essential imo. Update the bulb so there is no need for the remote and im in.
There also sold at Walmart.
i saw this at walmart but then couldnt find it online with any of the keywords i tried
The reason i think why it has a double sticker was because store employees might have opened it up to inspect and make sure nothing was missing/damaged
The beeping sounds like a microwave.
Bell & howell lost legitimacy a long time ago
I wish the fan blades were the lights
Slip rings to get electricity to the spinny bits would add to the cost and there could be issues with flickering lights depending on the rotational speed of the fan.

Sams has them for 39.99!!!!
I want to let you know that I found out that people on TikTok are stealing your videos. One of the videos there got over 30K views.
You really should put watermarks on your videos.
Talk to the Chinese about the packing FYI they don't give a damn but they got your money🤑🤑🤑🤑
I Just bought one ☝️.
Seems to be a good product, but dam man u tend to ramble on about useless things at times lol.Quick tip 4 ya on these review videos, they shouldn't be more then 5 mins..I mean it took that long to just open the box..Get straight to the point if doing a product review video..If your doing a unboxing video then you can ramble and make it long as u want lol...Sorry no offense meant and thx for the video sir..
11:00 I for one like the details. For instance, he observes the fan motor to (probably be)a synchronous motor.I now know what that is.Knowing this I now understand the carousel in the microwave traveling in different directions.
Dude I've seen a lot worse wobbles on a $400 self install your dealing with $50 and cheaper if purchased online all your complaining here you'll be bragging about it with your BUDS
Buddy stop talking so much and just show the product you talk way too much
