- Looking back at a classic Premier League fixture between Newcastle United and Arsenal from 2001.
Andy O'Brien, Alan Shearer and Laurent Robert were all on the scoresheet as the Magpies went top of the league at Christmas.

It would be absolutely fantastic if we could do this again
With Howe there keep dreaming.
even if we get a draw theyre gonna lose their shit
@@yanko84 true lol
@@TerbrugZondolophowe is a good coach newcastle would be higher up the table if they hadn't had an horrendous season for injuries
@@yanko84 A draw would be so good
3:08 - Shearer straight back on his feet, no whinging, even pleading with the ref not to card Parlour. This is the sort of class we are missing in the Prem in 2024. Too much diving and trying to get opponents sent off
Shearer would have been sent off as well for touching the ref these days 😂
Notice no one did that for Bellamy for daring to brush Cole's face
RIP Sir Robson and Speedo 🖤🤍
Quite a spicy encounter. It's weird watching games without VAR now. Not often you see an overhead-kick cross. Some serious talent on display. RIP Speedo.
Galaxy of stars... what a privilege to have witnessed such great players from both sides, I know Newcastle will put up a brave fight vs Arsenal, Go Magpies 2-3 Newcastle
That bit of skill and cross from Henry totally deserved a goal.
He was definitely the best player to play in the premier league.
2nd
Not even the best player on the pitch 😉
the comentator twice saying Alan Shearer has never scored at Highbury, he scored a hatrick on his debut for Southampton, great times and memories
Southampton were at home, weren't they?
@@mrsnail5 apologies, i always thought it was at Highbury, i was wrong, sorry
I remember watching this game via Teletext on a Monday night. Good, simpler times. Also, it was class from Shearer for telling Poll (who had a mare, btw) not to send Parlour off for a second booking.
This team made me support Newcastle. Shearer, Robert, Bellamy, Speed, Solano. What a team man
How is that a straight red for Bellamy?
Simply his reputation & Cole’s play acting
This team was truly something else. RIP SBR. ❤
This particular season my fav ever season - was a huge huge special one. I recall every bit of it, even the end of season dvd (which they don’t seem to do no more) and I recall every player we had out there, we were top at Xmas but a few changes and suspensions (Craig) + we just slipped up and finished 4th. But what memories! These were the days. The small pitch helped a bit and the fact parkour got sent off but we had an edge about us from the first whistle! Arsenal late at night and a bit jaded couldn’t handle the fact we were up for it, and as Bobby said what a side we had beaten!!
❤️
Bellamy straight red for nowt
TOON ARMY 🖤🤍🖤🤍
I still waiting for the highlights video of the last match 😂
I took my dad to this game and it remains one of our best memories ❤
Keown shoving his hand in front of the camera at the end, has that bloke always been a prick.
Amazing memories!
HOW JUST HOW is that Bellamy foul a "straight RED"? Oh my days! a yellow YES, he would have been sent off anyway, but not a red surely!! Dear me!
Both of the sendings off were ridiculous. Credit to Shearer actually for pleading with the ref not to send Parlour off. Don't see that often anymore!
@@igg3937 True to be honest, both poor ref decisions!
(without knowing the rulebook by heart) I´m not even 100% sure it should be a second yellow. I wouldnt go as far as saying it would be wrong but definitely a bit harsh. A straight red is a complete joke. The fact that the murder attempt preceeding the 2-1 penalty ISN`T a straight red is just piss in the wound.
1 of our 2 wins away to Aresnal in 40 years
I forgot how dirty this Arsenal team was. Great win this, I was serving in the forces at the time and all the mockney gooners were very quiet afterwards, a good night in the naafi
1-0 down 3-1 up at this old football ground.
More of this today please 🙂
I hope the McBays champions will bring back this glorious performance in tomorrow's match.
шикарно
Wish this had the original Prem Plus commentary with Alan Parry and Brian Marwood
What about yesterday?😂😂😂😂
Shame im too young to have seen shearer myself hes extraordinary.
Newcastle 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Alan Harris 🔥🔥
Robert 32
Lauren, Lauren Robert, everyone knows his name!
Sir bob ❤
Come on the Toon let’s have the same again
Final scenes of Islington tears & bed wetting when the result isn't to their liking. Who'd have thought?!
Crying is an Assenal trait. No sense of sportsmanship and always acting like a victim even when decisions go their way. Least likable team in the league.
Enjoy the cooked magpies!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Arsrenal
Thank god for the translator function.
Shearer straight away dont send him off ref with Parlour not one Arsenal player doing the same for Bellamy
I love it when Newcastle United to beat arsenal next season
4-1
Thierry Angry at very painful loss
I would have shown him straight red for acting like that and talking to me like that. Great player, but that was pathetic behavior and hopefully we will have legoman acting and crying the same way come 90+mins tomorrow night.
How good was Henry man? You just don't see flair like that often in the modern game.
Cole cheered the ref
i really miss player type like Robert
Based on this I don't think refereeing has got worse. Some appalling decisions from Graham Poll
How come you people didn't post tge Arsenal game, diabolical.
VARCASTLE United… 4 - 1 😂😂😂😂
lmao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Emanuel Swedenborg predicts the same scoreline in2024
maybe but only if we have Isak & Wllock back in squad✌️.
😂😂😂😂 where's the highlights of 4-1
Both red cards should not have been reds. If VAR had been a thing then, Parlour would still have been off as it was a second yellow, but soft. Even Shearer pleaded with the ref on his behalf. Bellamy would have stood a chance of having his reduced to a yellow (as it was more down to Cole's Oscar performance).. Campbell should have had a red as he was out of control in his foul. If VAR had existed then the ref would have been sent to the monitor. Lastly, Henry should have received a red card after the game. When the ref has a police protection walking off it obviously shows Henry was going too far. Funny how he didn't complain to the ref when playing for France and he cheated Ireland out of a World Cup spot when he blatantly cheated by handballing in the lead up to a France goal.
Was this match at James Park?
Does it look like St James’s Park 🤷🤦♂️ (It’s Highbury)
@@Charlton2010 thanks
HWTL
Arsenal are lucky var didnt exist then, that was clearly a handball 😂
Ars-renal😂
LOL, I seen that too! lol
What an absolute clown of a referee.
I actually fancy a 3-1 win tomorrow so I’m glad yous uploaded this game, massive game HWTL!!🖤🤍
I'm glad of Your confidence buddy, and I hope You are right, but I honestly cannot see anything but a loss giving the current squad! ;-/
@@colindavid2078 i think most people feel the same mate and your probably right, I believe we can win a trophy in the next few years but we probably won’t because this fan base is far to negative.. if you don’t believe you will never achieve👏
@@DYL2020 Don't get me wrong, I believe! IF anyone believes it's me, and have done this last 29 years...... but I think arsenal at the moment are too strong, and if we had a full fit squad, I think we could take them, but we don't, and we are struggling against teams like Luton and Bournemouth, so I find it hard getting any result against high scoring Arsenal away!! Maybe, IF our defence wakens up and gets their act together again and Dubravka can stay on his feet and have a great game, we may manage a draw!
@@colindavid2078im agreed with u
Ma le sconfitte non le pubblicate?🤣
handball we would have won 3-0
