- Isla Mujeres is a lovely island off the coast of Cancun in Mexico, and here you can visit the beach voted the best in Mexico by Trip Advisor's readers. It's called Playa Norte, and although we haven't been to all beaches in Mexico, we fully agree. This is also our favorite now. 😍
In this travel vlog, we go for a tour around the island in a golf cart. You also see Punta Sur, Playa Centro, downtown, and the boat trip between Cancun and Isla Mujeres.

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. We take the ultramar ferry to the island d and rent a house for a week or two. VRBO

Wow. I bought a condo in Puerto Morelos. I am kinda right in the middle of these Cozumel and Isla Mujeres. I can be on one the islands fairly quickly. I don't know living expenses well for Mexico. I think it would depend where you want to live there. I think it has gotten expensive as many expats have moved there over the last few years.

We have just returned...it is everything you said it is and much much more...we are in our mid 60s but still only 20 in our heads so jumping off of the high rock at Cenote Azul was a breeze..too much tequila on 5th avenue.. snorkeling on the islands,beach days..the friendly local people all made it on of the best holidays we have ever had..thanks again for the inspiration it was truly brilliant
My wife and I went there in 1988 before the hurricane. Nice to see it's come back . We ventured there because we didn't like the vibe in cancun, took a taxi to Punta Sam and paid 50cents for a boat ride to Isla Mujeres. Spent our time at Playa Norte, found a little establishment named 'Bujos on the beach' that served us drinks and Shrimp Cocktails as we sunbathed. Actually found a room there for 20 bucks a night and stayed there. It was a wonderful place then and just what we needed at the time. Thanks for the nice tour of modern Isla Mujeres.

I never go to any tourist trap in Mexico. And I’ve been all over! But Isla Mujeres May be the one I will go to eventually. The places that Instagramer mentioned are all so typical! Mexico has way more to offer than just those places.

Mujeres about 1 and half year ago and I knew it that it was a wonderful place. I was impressed by the beautiful beaches and I enjoyed marine activities such as snorkeling and kyach, etc. Personally, I loved it more than Cancun because it is much quieter, so it is good for people who loves nature. Your report was as good as I expected, too. I want to take my wife there who lives in Japan now in the near future. I will keep watching your report!

I just discovered your channel when CZcams suggested this video, due to me doing some research on the island in past weeks. I think you've given one of the best views of the island that I've seen. I've been visiting the area since Playa was a small fishing village with just 2 phone lines and all the businesses shut down for afternoon siesta. I haven't yet, though, visited Isla Mujeres, but we have a room booked in Tres Mentiras for December. We'll also visit Playa, Valladolid and perhaps some other places; I'll check out your other videos to see if there's anything new since our last visit to the area.

Your beach wear outfit you put on at Punta Sue was gorgeous! Where did you find it?
I visited Isla Mujeres in 1963 when it had few tourists. The police had the only radio for communcation and I stayed in the first motel that was under construction. I do not recall its name, but I do recall the group of French speaking tourists, all men, that were the only other guests. We were 4 college girls, students at the UNAM in Mexico City. One of us spoke French. It came in handy to learn the guy's plans when they tried to break down our door. We had pushed all the furniture in the room in front of the door and waited in the dark the whole night with broken bottles in our hands in order to defend us. No phones. We were lucky and by morning the guys had left. I am sure that things are different now
Well that is a terrible experience. I think Isla has come a long way since then
Place was very crowded when we went and water looks nice but when got in it was a little murky. Beaches short but nice. I see it getting more all inclusive developed soon
I suspect you will be right. Cancun and area is going all inclusive...shame
