Yes but how many sheets to a roll? Top quality rolls are fluffed up with air, they take up more room but don’t weigh more. Caveat Emptor perhaps.

It's a very complex issue and I have a large spreadsheet dedicated to this subject, Mr Burch. As you suggest, there are many factors to consider, including - for example - the length of each sheet and the number torn off per use. In the end I decided to chose the almost-internationally-recognised standard of 'price per 100 sheets' during this particular experiment. You will find the data in my reply to Mr Man below. Sugarcane paper from an eco-friendly supplier - 24p per 100 sheets, 300 sheets per roll
Roll T - ‘Thomas Crapper’
Bamboo paper from an eco-friendly supplier - 22.5p per 100 sheets, 370 sheets per roll
Roll K - ‘Kurt’
Paper designed for chemical toilets - 37p per 100 sheets, 270 sheets per roll
