    Want to practice acting but worried about my parents hearing me and making fun of me lol
    Edit: YOO I DID IT. I joined the theater department and I LOVE IT, there’s a lot of great people, we did Anne of Green Gables and now we’re doing a musical, it’s Cinderella. I was Ensemble both times but that’s ok, got to start somewhere, and I already have a bunch of new friends. Everyone is so motivating and positive and friendly and creative

    I want to start acting so badly, but I'm scared that I'm too late bc I hear that really successful actors have started really young. I have big dreams of performing Shakespeare and other big dramatic roles, and also comedic roles (tbh I just want to be able to tackle any and every role) but I feel like the way I say and act out the lines are robotic and bad. Is it still possible for anyone of any age to learn to act? I'm 15 btw

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  Před 3 lety +41

      15? No, you are not "too old". In my perspective, you should enjoy your childhood and treat acting like any other career, get educated, do research on how to be successful financially and mentally. If you aren't good now, it's because you probably don't have training so that's where you should start. You can start learning now and take it from there. Feel free to check out the playlists on my channel as I have videos about acting classes and acting exercises like this one. :)

      Hi Rhianna, I know it can be hard for some people to accept you choosing to be an actor because it is very hard to make a full income from it. If you are under 18, you will need to have to have your parent's permission when you find any auditions. I have lots of videos on how I find auditions now and how I have in the past. These were great exercises. I love the focus on experiencing your own life and response to situations and then tuning into that when you are doing a scene instead of trying to copy someone else’s style. Also I love the neutral line exercise. I think it would be really cool to have prompts like the neutral line and see a lot of different actors performing it, to really see all the range one can achieve with it. I just turned 15 and have been doing tons of research. I want to take acting classes so I could learn technique because I know that’s what a lot of actors did as children. Im hoping there’s a way to take acting classes without doing theatre and all of that. I really feel that I have some of it in me but I just have to get a few things on track. (Facial expressions, hand gestures, etc.) I’m really looking forward into the future because it’s GOING TO HAPPEN. I pray every night for God to help me chase and achieve my dreams and he’s proven me that he can do that. I’m confident in myself and what I can become. Ps. Hi, I’m not an actor. I’m struggling with speaking in public, speaking in general! I recorded myself and I sound monotone, lethargic, like I’m tired, or constipated. I stammer and use um, uh, like, um so. But when I’m conversing with a like minded friend, I feel more relaxed and articulate myself better. Any tips on how/where I can practice to help me convey personality and genuine enthusiasm?

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes! You should talk to strangers or get a seasonal customer service job where you have to talk to many people at one times. Practice being in difficult situations and speaking in front of many people. 😊 If you practice at home on your own, you don't have the pressure of other people listening.
