- Michelle challenged me to use things I sent her, and this is the result! I also used a Collage Soup image (www.collagesoup.com) as the focal point. This was a ton of fun! hope you enjoy me working through all the challenges of making myself do layers and keep going even when I thought it was "good enough". I have a lot of practicing to do, still -- but this was a ton of fun!

I just enjoyed you so much. It's as if you qwew in my brain talking back to my inner critic. I feel so empowered to get my button gear so that I can embrace layers even more. I thought that you'd already made such a pretty background, and honestly that would have been my stopping point. Then you went further and further and turned what I thought looked good into something that was rich and really interesting to look at. Thank you so much for sharing your fears and crafting insecurities. You are not alone!
Oh this is wonderful to hear! When I was editing this video I saw that background and I actually had my inner critic say "You should have just stopped right there and left that page alone! It looks great! then you added more layers to it!" Then I heard my Self say "It's ok to keep going and add more layers and make it something different." So even AFTER doing it I was still trying to talk myself out of it! 😂 So, out of spite I am going to do this more and more until I feel more comfortable! 😝 I am so glad that I have good company! And I can't wait to keep playing and pushing my boundaries! TFW! 💜

3 - my thoughts..
Would I have done that? Absolutely not. My mind never tells me to keep going. It tells me *it's going to get covered up, so don't. Stop.* it tells me *you will make it a mess. Put it away* it also tells me *no one cares* but, those are my issues to try and conquer some day.
4- I dud love that you had no reservations for tearing into the papers and using them. I love that you DID keep going cuz it did turn out great! Everything blended so well at the end.

I will try and time my creating with something else that I need to go do, so that I HAVE to walk away and can't muck it all up while waiting on it to dry! 😂 TFW, friend! 💜 P.S. I hope you start a rooms glue book and send me pics! 🫶
@TheHalfassCrafter I think we are similar creators - at least in the half assery department!! 😂😂 it would be so fun to spend a day with you creating wild wacky dolls. We could trade set a timer for 30 min and trade off every 5 min, and then we get what we get!! 😂😂

This came out so fun and colorful. Way to get past the inner critical voice that would have you stop too soon. My only suggestion is if you really like a background, scan it or snap a pic before you add the centerpiece.Then you could print it out (or use digitally in Procreate or Photoshop) to play with again - differently!

If you had to rate wanderlust 1-10 so far, where ya at?
Good question. It started out strong, the middle part got a little repetitive, but I have high hopes for the next section, so we'll see where I end up. I haven't done about 3-4 lessons total because they feel repetitive to other lessons and I haven't been in the mood. It's a yearlong course, so clearly there will be lessons that aren't terribly inspiring, so I think right now it's a 7, maybe? It's definitely helped me but also I'm not sure that a well-curated playlist couldn't have done the same thing. (but who has time to curate an art journal playlist!?)
