Misinformation is beyond prevalent these days since anyone with an opinion or a bias can pretend to be an expert on a topic. There are three major places of misinformation and for some reason, Google loves to place them at or near the top of search results.
    Harbinger 1: Wikipedia
Wikipedia articles can be altered by anyone to say whatever they want to say. Wikipedia does have some content moderators, but they can't possibly keep up or catch all the errors added by false experts. One must take caution with Wikipedia and use it only as a place to get an idea for a deeper academic level search for information.
    Harbinger 2: Reddit
Reddit is full of opinions with no authoritative content moderation for accuracy. It should never be relied upon as a place for serious research or learning. Although some posts may be authoritative, most of them are biased opinions based on beliefs rather than facts. The only purpose Reddit could serve is reading the posts and trying to figure out how someone could be so far from the truth.
    Harbinger 3: Quora
Quora is a place for people to ask questions and receive many biased and opinionated answers. Just like Reddit, there seems to be no moderation to ensure those providing answers actually know anything about the subject.
If you need to research an answer, look for academic sites specific to the subject first followed by government sites for laws.
