I love rebuilding these things. Ive used everything from chinese to genuine to aftermarket. My best work saw had a moly coated piston , touched up the cylinder and shaved it and ported the intake also. Running on 45:1 927 it ripped and sounded just as good as a dirt bike. Unfortunatly it blew up after 3 years of everyday cry cutting use. Ive rebuilt half a dozen since but nothing performed like that saw.. all it needed was a power pipe.
But i am here cause of a saw that has the most stubborn case halves ive seperated yet.

Great video, and thanks for sharing. The only comment is that, I'd personally perform a pressure and vacuum test once I'd installed the new crankshaft and cylinder. That way you know that you would know everything was good before spending time putting it all back together.

i just rebuilt my ts 420 saw with all new kit everything and on startup it smoked but i thought maybe for the oil i put on the piston and rings and head not much i let it run for 20-30 min at idle for breakin and it smokes badly on the rev up .......took it back apart to check the rings and head all looks good comp test at 87 -90 no leakdown after 10 min what do you think could be the issue

Sounds like oil gas mixture too rich. What do you run? 1:50?

Ts800 would be easier because they have the four bolts accessible from the top of the cylinder so you don't need to disassemble much.
