Recoge tu Biblia y lee:

    Maradona embodied Argentina, on and off the pitch. His passion, charisma and struggles reminded us all where he came from in spite of his inhuman talent. He lived life to the fullest, for both good and bad, as is the argentine way. His football conquered the world and his character conquered the people's hearts.
    Maradona will always be Argentina and Argentina will always be Maradona.

    Maradona left a famously great team in Barcelona in 1984, to join a weak provincial side in Napoli, to the confusion of many, and made them Serie A and UEFA Cup champions. I've never seen any athlete in any sport do that apart from maybe Schumacher when he joined Ferrari.

    Correct Gab Marcotti, Pele did have pretty much " supporting cast " from 1958 (1st WC) till 1970 (4th WC) tournament he participated. Just 1970 WC enough to point out few: Jarzinho, Tostao, Rivelinho,Gerson, Carlos Alberto & many more 🤷‍♂️ can you name as good supporting cast in Maradona's squad? I don't think so

    • @majharulali5335
      @majharulali5335 Před 3 lety +1

      i mean he did have a good supporting team hence why they got to the world cup final you cant win a world cup with just one world beater and some average guys the disrespect to the 1986 argentinan team also maradonna cheated.

    • @kiriakoz
      @kiriakoz Před 3 lety

      @@majharulali5335 you're right. The league is more of a measurement of consistency than any knockout tournament and probably a better indication of the best team.
      Although! There is something special about a tournament too. In a league, you can afford to lose games. In a knockout tournament, a loss will most likely be fatal. Argentina were unbeaten in that World Cup. Apart from a draw in their first game, they won all of their other games. No extra time in the knockout stages, no penalties, just wins. I think since then, only Brazil (2002) and France (2018) have won all of their knockout games in normal time since.

    Let's put the debate on who is the GOAT to bed once and for all. The GOD has left earth to take his place among the stars rightfully. There will never ever be another like Diego Armando Maradona ever again. Simply the most iconic, passionate, flawed and talented player to have ever graced the game of football. My heart bleeds for him, my mind cannot accept the fact of reality but El Pibe de Oro will forever live in my heart till it stops beating. Vamos Argentina, Vamos Diego Armando Maradona!
