Beginner Guide Dragon Ball Fighterz #2 - Universal Manual Combo

- Time to take off the Dragon Ball Fighterz training wheels Left in place for us and start converting our hits into this Combo. What's so great about the combo is once you learn it once on any character you can go ahead and play half the cast do GREAT damage. EVEN better you stop at whatever Level is Comfortable for you now and come back you feel your execution has improved. Notation for each Level Below! Get out there and Do some BIG Damage! I know some of you the Ultimate or Fighterz edition too with DLC characters too. If you need help modifying this combo to fit your team just let me know in the comments.

Notes For Level 5:
- Remember to hold the Grab button for max damage on grab
- Holding assist while grabbing will force character out (A.K.A Snapback)
- Half Circle Forward/Back + Assist at the end will tag teammate in and have them do their Level 1/3 instead!

I started learning fighting games wiht dbfz very recently and what helped me learn this combo was basically to break each step into a bunch of tiny combos as it helped me bring in experience from other games like monster hunter (but obviously much faster), it's down med -> med, then the jump is a moment to recalibrate, then light -> med -> light -> down heavy -> super dash then you do it again but prepared quickly for the finisher

I'm glad I watched this before playing much of the game. While going through the story mode I had plenty of time to practice this and now it's already second nature without spending much time smacking a dummy ;p

Only downside to getting into fighters now is you mighty not be able to find ranked matches quickly. Unranked should be fine, at least for NA. Even then Fighterz is too successful to not get a sequel so at the end of the day its a fun time to start and an investment for the future. 👍🏾

same I can't connect the 2nd down heavy with lights
Same I'm stuck in the last part where you just mash light to get the auto combo at the end. I get till 2H and then drop the combo

You dont know how good you are. After watching you I got the aerial combo in 3 tries, then after that I can just do it consistently without thinking (straight to level 5). It helps that you break it down and actually show button commands in real time.
I don't play fighting games often so this is first like this. I just need to learn how to pull it off in a real situation. Any tips?
Straight to level 5 that is really good! Thanks for the kind words🙏! Next you should try to land the combo in a game against the computer. That'll give you just enough problems to solve alongside landing a combo to cement the combo into your muscle memory. Set the enemy cpu team to where your matches are close until you feel comfortable finding the hit you need and landing your combos consistently. Lastly who is on your team?
@@KairosFGC Thanks! I chose to main Goku Black from the start (i just had the most fun woth him). I bought Zamasu yesterday and love him too but juggling the third slot trying to find synergy. It between Cooler and Android 21 atm since I can do the climb combo easier with them.
I've updated the combo with GB too to where on the second acend I end with light, medium, special heavy. This does his God Kick (whatever is called) and if followed immediately with a super dash down and a light, medium special (lighter version of the kick) it can be chained 2 more times, but you go lower each time 'til you hit the floor. It's about 28 hit combo. You can vanish just before hitting the floor and continue with another special but it's hard.
Also just tired ranked. Won 2, lost 1 but im a yellow rank now. My defense is lacking though. Just panicked and dash everywhere. I call it the Triple Wall Spike.
@@RoseLraye27 Nice! Already optimizing. Zamasu is hard but rewarding so I'm glad your liking him. Your assist are GB (Beam assist) and Masu (A or B) so your team comp is solid just need some X Factor. Out of cooler and Android 21 and I'd have to give it up A21 cause her Level 3 super is one of the best. Your braver than most heading into rank so soon but it'll def get your defense up that way. If you want someone to spar with IF your on PC, I can help there too just lmk.

I'm on PS5 unfortunately - I don't have a pc. Shame, I would have really liked to spar. I don't mind losing coz I learn faster in the heat of the moment. So far I've lost alot of games to my mates but they orange and yellow ranking and it cool to read them and what they do.
I spent hours just in the training room and arcade 🤣. Perhaps too much - I really needed to get out.

When you highlight all characters in 3 colors based on who can and cannot do the Universal, what does each color represent?
Green = Can do the universal combo
Blue = Does a slightly different version of the Universal combo
Red = Does not do the universal combo
Great guides man the way you break things down and give tips is super helpful, there’s just one thing I’m struggling with. I’m trying this on kefla and all of her level 1’s except gigantic ray will hit. Am I just messing up the input or can that just not connect with the end of level 4?
Yep, that's by design. Its supposed to be used a setplay/ pressure tool. Similar to Piccolo's Hellzone Grenade. 👍
Technically you can combo into it wouldn't be worth it since thats not its intended purpose.

Been playing the game since 3 days can’t get the first level of the combo down
I used the holding down tip and it worked perfectly. However I am trying to learn/play SSJ vegeta now and I keep dropping the bnb into that divekick. feelsbadman
There may still be hope yet. The divekick requires holding down exactly. If you don't want the dive kick try holding down and back instead and I think you should be good. Lmk if it works. 👍

For level 5 is it possible to do vanish, grab into super assist? Or the only option is to perform the standard combo ending with LLL and then super assist

Getting it in a real match definitely takes time. Practice completing it 5 times on both sides before/between matches and you'll have it down in no time. 👍

I keep missing the timing of the first down h, and it comes out as a h and ends the combo at 5 hits. Do you have any tips for the timing of this?
Hold down during the Light Light Sequence as well since down Light in the air is no different from pressing Light with no direction . This way your already holding down down before you get to the down heavy and just H literally cannot come out. So again once you get them airborne (while Holding down) Light Light Heavy is the only thing you should be doing.

does the level 3 actually give you full meter without doing anything else? i dont move at all so i dont get the extra meter build from walking forward (ssj gokus 2M has enough reach to not have to move forward) so do i need to walk foward a bit to get the meter or am i failing to optimize the combo enough to get full meter?

The character highlighted in blue and red have to end their combos differently to get the knockdown necessary for super. Who do you play?

@@utaug595 The combo in the video works for teen gohan. but for is level 1 yo have to be in corner cause he aims upward.
For piccolo use the Level 4 combo in the description. The only difference is you HAVE to use QCB+H for the hard knockdown.
Cell is the most unique of your 3. For him you do: Down M, M, Forward Jump, L ,M, L, Down+H, H(SuperDash), M ,L, Double Jump L ,L, L, S, QCF+L, Super (Level 1 or 3)

Hey bro, do you have any tips for getting level 3 down? I can do level 2 pretty easily but the L,M,L, Down H movements are messing me up
most people have trouble pressing down at the time of the heavy. so instead hold down during the entire sequence. Down + LMLH. Just hold down the hold time. lmk if that helps. 👍🏾

What’s the Xbox controller equivalent of half circle back?
Going from forward on the Dpad to Down to Back. Easy enough on analog but I strongly suggest using the Dpad as much as possible.

Besides what I already I mentioned I think another common problem people ran into was going back to light after pressing medium or forgetting the medium all together. What error are you specifically doing. If you tell the inputs as well that will help even more.
@@KairosFGC My problem is both 😅 I'm having alot of problems with pressing Medium and if I get into a actual online match I just completely forgot to press Medium
@@immawaifu4166 Theres a lot going on-screen in an actual match it takes time just be patient with yourself. What Really helps me is warming all my characters combos beforehand. 3 mins with each character outta do the trick. and even if you can't hit the ful lthing in-game remember: The best combo is the one you can finish. 🙏🏾🤝🏾

It goes on sale all the time, tons of cool characters, and very accessible for all levels a play, Casual or competitive. Using parsec you only need to buy one copy to play with friends as well. DEF worth it👍

@@KairosFGC I'll try my best! also I've found that I'm not good at "beginner" characters like Vegeta and Goku anymore, I'm apparently too good to play them effectively lol
@@ivyswhatever2869 the better you are the more effective those characters you mentioned are, actually. Ssj goku and Vegeta are both considered extremely good. Goku has every tool you would need and Vegeta has great assists and specials.
My little brain main team is ZBroly UIGoku and a slot that I keep changing every now and then (currently SB2) anyone got a combo for me

In the beginning I hightlight characters on the characters select screen in green. The characters in green can do the combo exactly as I show in. The video without the need to modify it.

@@kimmo.dotcom some characters can't end the full combo with LLL instead they have to replace the Last Light with a special move to get the hard knockdown.

Why does everyone do LL in the air LML or MLL works and gives you an extra hit
Players do LL instead cause that activates the tracking from auto combo's thus removing the fear of dropping the combo, sometimes it doesn't make it difference cause they're gonna super anyway. If you wanna takw a step further do MLL instead for a little more damage due to scaling.
