It's incredible, even not having the best voice for this role, Carreras sings and stages with great conviction and authority. Impeccable phrasing, and timbre is a beauty. Cappuccilli as always fantastic. Bravo!!
These two were a perfect match. I have this theory that every great tenor has a baritone who completes him, and when they meet, they are even better. Like Corelli and Bastianini, Domingo and Milnes, Björling and Warren, and definitely Carreras and Cappuccilli.
