I can only imagine ttd scrolling through the comments but resist the temptation not to like the best ones against the players featured in their videos 😂
@@irtiza4262 I suppose there is a chance. They've played with FZD and Xu Xin before. Also I'm sure Ma long can do better serves than he does on the pro circuit because he isn't afraid of the powerful receive from an amateur player.
I'm hungry for more TTD videos xD, keep it coming, we enjoy watching your videos. This challenge was refreshing, including Tom was a great idea. Now can we have other members of TTD, and looking forward to Umair's Backhand masterclass.
Thanks for the video! I would like to see a short slowmo explanation of each serve and why the return went wrong for next time. You could at least say if it was backspin or top spin.
If you guys see it in 0.25X, you can see the contact point of the ball, it's not illegal to hide the blade before contact, you can see the ball from toss till it touches the blade.
I can't believe the serves weren't called out. He hides the ball in his hand (the palm is meant to be open with the ball resting on top of it) and he hides the contact point with his body and his right arm (the contact point is meant to be visible and unobstructed). Maybe next time try counting how many of the 10 are legal.
The best server in Germany would probably be Hermann Mühlbach(watch him vs. Ovtcharov). He "only" plays in the 2.Bundesliga, but is still known as the "service professional"/Aufschlagprofi. You can even check out a few videos he's done with MyTischtennis about services!
I would love to see him serve with the new service review .. Don't you think opponents find it difficult to see the contact of the ball while he is serving 😑
How about a master class on how to read and effectively return serves? IMHO, that's one of the main reasons many players aren't better. You can have a great loop or a fantastic flat hit, but if you can't get the ball in play decently at the beginning, you'll never get a chance to use those great shots.
dan, and ttd legacy crew: i love you guys! i'm sad you've chosen to elevate such a notorious service cheater on your channel and in your club. you are much better than that. i will continue to enjoy your channel in spite of this video, because you guys are the bomb! best
I’m surprised about so many comments claiming the serve illegal. It seems completely legal to me, very well disguising but not hiding the contact with the body.
The axis of side spin makes it easier to return with the forehand. It's an unusual serve that kicks and disrupts timing but he's a bit overrated as a server. He only has one type of serve and placement.Against lefties doesn't have much success.Kinda like He Zhi Wen his serve relies too much on his left-handedness and less to his overall skills.
I wish serves weren't so strong in table tennis. Like if you watch matches from the 1950s they knew they couldn't really win from serve so they just gave you something easy to return and tried to win on like the 9th ball. Something to be said about that, seems better that way
To get spin in serves and in strokes in general you must relax your wrist at all, even when accelerating. If you lock him the spin gets killed. I was struggling with this until recently 😉
You should be able to see the ball when it is contacting the racket. People legally can’t hide it with their bodies. I would suggest looking up some videos on what legal serves are because I believe there is more to it.
hi dan im a biggest fan of you hope i could get a tenergy 05 from you with your signature so i could keep it until i grow old from philippines 🇵🇭 hope you could notice this
Cheating and illegal serves greatly help in obtaining the title of "World’s best server". Par Gerell is an average server. For good serves, it's hard to get past Shang Kun of China.
Is his serve hovering on the illegal side? It seems like he throws the ball towards himself and hides the ball with his body to some degree. But anyways, great deceptions!
Chikita works only for short sidespin serves.A underspin-no spin combo or serving to the forehand is the way to go (that's how Ma Lin served against Wang Hao).
This serve is illegal on two fronts. 1. he stand behind the side of the table and his body is alost covering all why to see the ball path and arm is at best on time back every 3rd time
The dribble, then the toss... No open palm, doesn't show ball to opponent. I've called players out for this and they get so defensive but the rules are quite clear. Also just look at how pros serve and you can see this is some garage club cheating.

Dima🙌🏓
Yoshimura bc he cover with head

Asuka Sakai

Aren’t all his serves illegal?
Definitely is, however that's just part of the modern game. Most pros hide their serves and will continue to do since the rules aren't enforced
It’s not even a big deal considering he’s a lefty so it’s naturally hidden from just the position of his body.
Can you tell why these are illegal

Amazing. Now we can see how illegal they are in 1080p

Would be a 0/10
Ma long would probably outserve him. There would be no third ball. Like in Timo serves vs Dan

He has the most illegal serve in the world though. Can't even see the contact as the player...
He can win so many matches by serving
MA LIN & HE ZHI WEN ! ! !
i put liu guoliang over ma lin there. Liu´s serve was one of the reason they changed the rules... but HE ZHI WEN has the most effective serve nowadays

If you listen to the guys they actually say I saw it on one serve , so I'd assume most serves they didn't see contact and were guessing.

Definitely not. A good serve is an illegal serve that the umpire doesnt see as an illegal serve. Its a common "rule" in top leagues.
lets play with a xu xin he is harder than simon guazy belive me he won him
You knew his serve has lot of topspin and you reverse it to the net
30£ for the serve🤣
It's funny how A) the serves are not technically legal,
B) Dan just misses them on purpose

Serve receive is common parlance.
