- On very windy day in March 1994 I had a tip off that there were 2 x Merseyrail 73s plus Regional Railways 73002 shunting around in the depot adjacent to Hall Road station. So apologies for the shaky video as the camera was large and the wind was blowing !
Great footage, Mike. Its both historic and precious, given that it shows three of the Merseyrail JA 73/0’s - I have not seen any footage of these working before now, although I remember them well, being a local from Wirral. Superb!
I was a fashion retailer in Liverpool from 1986-1996, I must go through more of my VHS tapes again. I didn't make many notes back then and it takes quite a while to check a 3 hr tape!
Very unique and rare footage there well done!
Lovely to see the 507's in their original livery and not the hideous merseytravel yellow .
THANKS FOR WATCHING; i'm so please I kept all my YVS tapes from the '90s
More rare and very interesting footage Mike, thanks again for sharing....Bob
Brilliant video Mike.Shame it was windy,It nice to see the 73 ,plenty of clag (C&A)
Hall Road depot is no more.
We lived in Birkdale and was manager of C & A in Liverpool...............very happy memories. Now retired in S/Wales
What happened at approximately seven o'clock that evening?
Sorry ??
any video's of the 936's?
The 73s using the third rail?
Formby beaches were a means of escape at weekends today it's just another slice of overpriced real estate.
