you know, all thru the beta my brain was in knots when working w the new midi tools lol. i feel better now watchibg fellow abers stumble thru them. it's all fine and well if you use one to generate something but modifying that result can be a Maze (often w happy accidents) ;) stacks, for instance, still wacks my neurons when selecting different duplicate parts of chord progressions. feels like there's a WAY to use these and we have to get in the designers' heads and learn their mode of thinking/composing ;) a cool new aspect of Meld is using the voice-stacking in combo w scale-awareness and doing yr chord changes (or whatever) w split voice modulation. you surely already played w that but i too forget all the possibilities that just opened up w L12. anyway, HUGE on those Artificial Intel comps, me too. That period is my bag in many respects. great show, thx :)

Hey Ned. Amazing stuff again.
Have you utilized the group function of single notes in the piano roll already?
It's a new feature of Live 12. Some groups of cross dependent notes with chances and choke groups(in Drum Rack) giving new possibilities of generative loops.
With some fiddling, you can create an 8-bar-loop, which is possibly never the same until 5 minutes.
A snare roll e.g. put some snares in a 16th measurement at the end of the loop...group them and put the chance down to 10-20%
Now the whole snare roll will be played or not a single snare at all.
If there ist another group overlapping with a little chance to be played, the choke group will priorize the other.
So the snare roll and the other element will be played exclusively.
It's a lot of fun and I have no YT'ler seen working with this new feature.
combining the new note groups, probability and custom choking based on midi sequence actually sounds like a cool idea. may try to mix it up with oldskool velocity- and key-group switching as well. nice one
I guess it is beneficial for live sets. I personally use it to prevent my ears from fatigue, while producing. It breaks monotony and keeps the track interesting on a subliminal level. Icould easyly do it with some follow actions, but achieving it in a single clip is somehow satisfying. @@nsjx

And about what you tried to achieve on the chords length, it could be that "recombine" wasn't working because all your notes were already of the same length, and that maybe you have to have different note length in order to use it... well i might be totally wrong, but i found this vid that briefly demonstrates it czcams.com/video/GTEckeBFOvQ/video.html ...
