Hello Everyone! GoldenNova here! Animation Chronicle is on the horizon, so it's time to cover all the new cards we'll have access to. And today, I'm using that as an excuse to cover an old LV archetype from the olden days of the game! Yeah, we're really digging up the Cyberdark Impact cards, cause it's time for Allure Queen Explained!

The "Queen's Bodyguards" really should have had a retrain that allowed you to special summon them when you had a "LV Queen" on the field & equipped to them to9 your "LV Queen's when they died.
I KNOW RIGHT!!! These Queen’s only Work as Summoning Fodder for Dark Sorceror!

A fanfic writer I follow created support cards for the Allure Queens called "Royal Pets". They're monsters the same level as the Queens that summon themselves to the opponent's field and give Allure Queen monsters they're equipped to bonuses

@@Mrryn definitely not a trap unless it can be activated from hand or the turn it was set. Traps in general suffer in modern yugioh unless they get game breaking effects or can be used from hand. Or traptrix...

There could've been more support I feel. Like a retrain of the bodyguards. But there could be other monsters.
Queen's Servants.
Lv.3/dark/spellcaster. Atk & def: 1000.
-special summon when queen is on the field, then gives them 1000 Atk & def, and prevents your opponent targeting a queen with card effects.
Queen's Royal Pet.
Lv. 6/earth/beast. Atk:2000/def: 1200.
-special summon when a queen is on the field, draws all attacks & spell/trap cards targeting your queen to itself, and gains Atk & def equal to a face up queen on your field.
Queen's Consort
Lv.7/dark/warrior. Atk: 1500/def: 2000.
-special summon when you have a queen on your field, and gains Atk equal to the highest lv queen on field. And once per turn, revive a monster from your G.Y and can either Sp. Summon it or equip it to a queen on your field (treating it as if it was equipped by the Queen's effect).
Two tech cards I'll throw out there:
1) Jester Confit - DARK Spellcaster that summons itself for free. This guy I feel just flies under the radar so often but this is a great spot for him and even opens up a quick link into Anima (another DARK Spellcaster that fittingly can steal a monster) and/or provide another body for Golden Queen.
2) Knightmare Corruptor Iblee - Obviously not a spellcaster but a mini Iblee package (her + Cynet Mining) can be an easy way to get a monster onto your opponent's field in those games where you don't open Palace or Dance. May take some finessing around the normal summon, but Iblee link off into Linguriboh or Almiraj is a free level 2 monster on your opponent's board, which is perfect for yoinking with every Allure Queen including Lv3.
*Plus Iblee being DARK (as well as Confit and the Queens) opens up Allure of Darkness as a viable draw card for the deck.
I think Nova missed that Allure Queen LV7 can scoop up ANY monster, its not limited by level
If I had a nickel for each time a one-off female antagonist received a HUGE, broken wave of support in recent years, I'd have two nickels : It isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice....

Being fair, these are all straight anime rips… that got casually rocked by @Ignister and their gameplay loop were done entirely off-screen so you had to infer how Queen’s turn played out. Keep in mind that Queen lost by OTK, even after cheating her LP back up and adding a usable Drowning Mirror Force from out of deck to field mid-turn.
Allure Queen got broken support? That's crazy *whips out the @Ignister deck with the Ai hairstyle*
I had always wanted Allure Queens to be better. Great artwork. Love that dark red. And I think they’re from the same artist as the Ruin and Demise series, my absolute favorites.
with Venoms would get more support, was my favorite archetype from back in the day.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get a dedicated Allure Queen archetype in the future, sort of revising/expanding on high level Allure Queen's relinquished effect. And it would help to have low level Allure Queen monsters to help with the game plan, like an Allire Queen's Advisor, Allure Queen's Bodyguard, etc.
I desperately tried to get an Allure Queen/Charmer strategy working back when they first released, but despite both focusing on stealing monsters, they have zero synergy. I still have the Allure Queens since nobody even wanted them, so this is the perfect opportunity to dust them off.
Also, just to point it out, Nova: Allure Queen LV7 has no targeting restriction, so with the new support cards, you could clear an entire board by slapping down a kaiju and then take it back with an instant Allure Queen LV3-7 from the field spell. Then you link all three for Gold, and enjoy the 4k freebie (assuming no handtraps).
With this, what other LV monsters are left? Armed Dragon already has a functional form, Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman have been remade for the Golden Sarcophagus of Light theme, and I don't need to mention Horus (though it's a shame the big chicken itself is less than optimal).
There's Dark Mimic and Dark Lucius, and there was also some insect LV monster

There is also Mystic Swordsmen and the Anime Only MASKED KNIGHT monsters!
Honestly, Allure Queen Lv monsters need a retrain for this support to work.

I admit, this and Dark Lucius are one of the coolest looking LV monsters, and it took over ten years for Allure Queen to get something new.
Now only to wait for Dark Lucius to get theirs.

I’m happy to see this deck get supported lmao i always wanted to play it but didn’t have the cards to make it work I feel I can put something together and maybe sneak some wins with it
I love that they actually came out with support for this literal minuscule archetype, I still have my copy of Yu-Gi-Oh 2008 championship for the DS and I used Allure Queen with pure equip spells to raise their attack, solely lol
They can easily fix or power up LV archetypes by making the tween LV cards!

I think I'll be trying this out with my Gravekeepers. Seems like either a longer way to get into Necrovalley or just a way to build the field after it's up.
We need sunavalon main deck monsters and spells/traps
"A lot of fun turning monsters into backrow." But sadly, most of them are the same. Turn the monster into backrow, and special summon it. We already have it since Crystal Beast and Vision HERO. We have some now backrow-monsters mechanic, but in the end, it just another flavor to summon something to the field as the material for something generic from extra deck. I actually want a monster that have real effect when it become a backrow, only "Pumprincess the Princess of Ghosts" that have this uniqueness.

Yeah. Definitely had that JRPG feel to them. It’s just that none of them were Free from those Stupid Restrictions on their Effects, except Horus, Mystic Swordsmen, and Silent Swordsmen.

Even now I question why, Allure Queen was even in vrains since I doubt anyone even remembered this deck until that point. Is it really just because they couldn't think of anything else that would fit the character?
Well I’m pretty sure it’s cuz the character’s nickname is queen, also throughout vrains they were using old cards here and there randomly
I Remember this Stupid Card. I Kept PULLIng it’s Ultra Rare every time I got a New Pack, and it annoyed me how she’s Crappy version of Relinquished!
I'm glad they're looking back at level monsters. I liked Allure Queen but she was just a worse relinquish but normal summonable. I hope they revisit Dark Lucius.
I hope they get more support to make them an actual archetype. Feeling hopeful as we are getting a bunch of spellcaster support this year

Technically the Alure queens have some synergy with predaplant,
As they turn opponent monsters' level to 1.
And the Allure queens are dark monsters,
So technically they could work together.

I’ve seen a lot of terrible, old archetypes get legacy support, and yet I never thought Allure Queen would be one that did. I guess it just seemed…so inconceivably bad I thought they wished it never existed. Ya know, like Crashbugs or fellow awful LV archetype, Dark Mimic.

I agree I was playing an evil eye deck I won we had five minutes left I said to my opponent let’s just call it a draw they demanded we play another duel first turn they played village of the spellcasters.
I was never as annoyed by a "timeskip over the commercial break" as that lady somehow spitting out an entire board of Allure Queens. HOW?

Im a master a duel link player. I never seen white woods. Why did no one tell me that they are archetypes so cool. I have never even seen them on my local play store

The downside to LV monsters is they are too slow. I think allure queen needs something like an equip card called the crown of allure that grants equipped allure queen cards ATK increase by their defense + the equipped monsters attack and gives the effect of reflecting damage when equipped with a monster. In addition, once per turn equip a monster from your hand or graveyard to an allure queen. Additional effect: if this equip card is sent to the graveyard due to the effect of an allure queen monster, you can equip onto an allure queen monster you control.
5:02 probably not actually able to do that because the equip effects all specify they can be used during "your" main phase, this most likely means the quick effect lets you chain them in response to enemy effects but not outside of your own main phase and by extension turn

I personally would really like a see a whole new line of LV monsters made for modern context as opposed to just retrains or legacy support; we still have yet to see a design where say a level up flexibly happens either at any End Phase or immediately based on a trigger (say opponent's special summon) and the cards reward going up the ladder rather than punishing any bypassing of it. Thunder Armed Dragon kind of just feels like a generic combo line rather than capturing that LV spirit, and Allure Queen just feels really weird how they need to give the original cards new effects just so they can function even with an engine made exactly for them and even then they need a new boss monster that they're now weirdly the bodyguards for.

Yeah, it just needs to be on your opponent’s side of the field. Unless if there was an OCG errata, it also lets you grab monsters summoned from the ED

You forgot to mention that Allure Queen lv3 can only absorb lv2 or lower NORMAL MONSTERS on your opponent's side of the field. Making her EVEN HARDER to use!

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think the animation chronicles has EVER actually dropped a "new" archetype only "series" and support for themes that already existed so the other Ignis archetypes wouldn't have been considered if that's the case

This is cool, but seems to HEAVILY rely on other support just to be good. As a pure Deck player, I can't see myself playing this. Before anyone says it, Yes the is how current Yu-Gi-Oh is played.
