There used to be two of you on this old, wooden boat. Your father and you. Just last summer. A light smile appears on your cheeks as you remember the last day of that trip. Your father leaning backward, almost dozing off, waiting for something, anything to bite at the
bait. His trusted pipe laying lazily from his lips. Some birds living their life in the distance. Suddenly, your father's fishing rod bends, his reel starts spinning. Just sudden, utter chaos on the boat. You remember your father's face at that moment. Complete opposite from the
whole situation. His eyes calm, his moves practiced. In less than 10 seconds he has everything under control, as he reels the big fish in, with smooth and delicate technique. The fish is out. The biggest catch of the season. Your father's face beams with pride. You smile at
him and feel truly happy... Yes, your last trip. There used to be two of you on this old, wooden boat. But, he's gone now. A trip of laughter and bonding is now a trip of loneliness and old memories. The smile is gone from your cheeks now. You take a deep breath and listen to
some bird family argue in the distance. You close your eyes and feel the full weight of that empty part of your heart. A minute passes and you decide to check on your bait. Your phone vibrates at that moment, pulling you out of your sad state. You look at it vibrating, and
moving slowly against the oak planks. It's your wife. You answer to hear what she has to say. "Honey, I'm pregnant!"... There are two of you on this old, wooden boat. Your son and you. A light smile appears on your cheeks...
