Today marks the one year anniversary of my grandmother's funeral. This was our shared favorite song, and the last time I saw her, shortly before she passed, I sang this for her. The fact that this video came out today of all days as a coincidence means so much to me personally. I've been struggling very hard this last week with life and reaching that one year point. I sang this to my 9 children almost daily. Now I sing it to my 5 grandchildren. Edelweiss is a classic. Excellent music. đ¶đ
Beautifully sung, with great harmonies as usual. The use of an acoustic guitar was its mellow sound makes this simple but lovely song sound even better. Wonderful arrangement also. This is a very nice change from having a full orchestra or even a few strings or Stephen on the piano. This gives you a chance to showcase both of your lovely voices. đ”đđđ€â€ïžâ€ïž

My family of 5 was fortunate enough yo see the conservatory where Sound of Music was filmed. As a girl of 14 I jumped the benches in the Gazebo, and posed with statues on the lake there in Saltzburg. Obviously is is a memory of a life time. The movie came out when I was a little child and I loved it and identified with Gretel immediately. Of course my mother sang this song to me growing up. Thank you my two favorite singers for enhancing my memory! You get better and better, starting from excellence!!! We listeners are so blessed.
I loved The Sound of Music growing up so this song makes me so nostalgic. I love the touch of Savana's hair ribbon and outfit, it reminds me a tad of Liesel's in the scene

You were bragging on the guitarist, who I agree is extremely good. But I am going to brag on you! Your harmony is exquisite! I could not help but smile. I know personally how difficult it can be to switch between singing the melody and singing the harmony. You really made it look seamless! You both not only have an extremely beautiful father/daughter relationship, which is why I fell in love with you. You also have a very high skill set that I truly admire and appreciate! You stole my heart when I first heard and saw you well over a year ago and I still have not got it back! Please don't stop doing what you are doing. I have been, and will continue to be your raving fan!

Oh love this song. Way back in the 80s I went to Austria to ski and brought back a music back which played Edelweiss. When ever I heard this song it brought me back to that great memories of that time. Finally got a chance to go back in 2019 with my wife to see Austria again. Salzburg is beautiful and we toured where the Sound of Music was filmed. We learned so much about the VonTrapp family and their love for music, so we decided to also spend time at the VonTrapp family lodge in Vermont where the family ended up. So we did go this pass June. The great grandson of Maria gave us a tour and told us more what has happened to the family since. Its an amazing story. As always you guys picked a perfect song and sung it perfectly.

Stumbled across this, great singing voices Savanna and Dad! I'm very thankful for our daughter named Savannah!
When this show opened on Broadway, Mr. Hammerstein was in the lobby and overheard a woman say that Eidleweiss was a beautiful song. She had learned it as a child, of course, in the original German. Mr. Hammerstein walked away smiling, knowing that he and Mr. Rogers had written a piece so perfect that it was actually mistaken for a real folk song.
