The oldest I have are stamped 2-28...not as old as the ones featured but they are in great shape!! I take them to my class and share with my 4th grade students every year as well as other older tools. They get to touch the past and hopefully understand the meaning of doing things right and with purpose.
I'm really late to the game for this video, but I found it great just the same. Before the advent of planned obsolescence, alot of products were high quality. Companies competed with each other in terms of quality, and longevity, unlike today were price is the dominating factor. It would be better for everyone, even Companies, if we returned to production based on those, "old-fashioned" ideals. I know the argument for planed obsolescence, however, those same Companies could concentrate on new offerings in related products, instead of making the same basic products? Does that make sense to anyone else? I'm not a wordsmith, so I can certainly elaborate if you're interested?

I have a pair that are marked "M KLEIN SONS 1-6" on the inside of both handles. They look brand new and look to be plated with nickel.
