Has anyone actually unintentionally missed a deadline? I never missed one or even came close for that matter. With the amount of nagging the party does and the giant countdown in the corner of the screen I genuinely don't see how you could fail
X3RNIOM I did on Kamoshida's palace because I had no idea that finishing a palace takes 3 days (finding the treasure, calling card, boss) instead of two so I went one day over.
I did since this was my first persona game, I didn't know I needed another day to send a calling card to Kamoshida. I infiltrated the palace on the last day thinking that was it.
I love how Soijiro's voice in the bad endings is more soft depending on wich deadline you didn't clear. Like in the Kamoshida one Soijiro was offering you coffee with a tone that may kill you but in Futaba one he was all protective. Little details like that make me happy.
Yeah no. You're full of it. Detective boy dies in Shidos palace literally right after your fight with him. Its absolutely impossible for him to arrest you

Pretty sinister that the mementos dungeon music plays during that bad end, everyone ends up succumbing to sloth and the world will end up overtaken by distorted desires

In reality, you basically fail to convince Sae to show Akechi the phone. Which ends with all Thieves murdered by Akechi and/or someone else on Shido orders.
It's kind of funny to think how the story must have gone. " And then there was a castle. And then there was a talking cat. And then I got arrested 6 months ago, yesterday and that's how I ended up here. " lol

I've gotten the bad ending in 2 games. In this I got shot in the head because I sold people out, and in the other, Kanji's corpse got hung from a telephone pole. Fun for the whole family.
I think the worst part about the deal Ending is that the game actually let's you save over it and start a new game+ from it, as if they're really sealing the deal and not letting you go back to change it
Quite a scary ending the final bad ending is. A world where the Phantom Thieves run amok, corrupted by their own "justice", free to change the hearts of whoever they see fit. And worst part of it all, people no longer have free will.
The scariest part about the deal ending is, that joker is the only one doing anything. The rest of the phantom thieves are locked up in velvet hell until they vanish. Joker purposely left them there to catch fame and acknowledgement, all the while being quite possibly the only human left with free will.
An argument can be made, that he's the fool in the end. Forever trapped in a delusion. Like being trapped in a video game with no other humans, forever. Just some lame NPCs.

Illusive Man it gets even worse when you realize the bad end one says “END.” in red when it’s supposed to say “FIN.” in white. really put in effort to make it feel just...off.
When it comes to Persona series, when they say it's a bad ending, it really is a BAD ending, like, they literally make you feel bad about your decision.
I like that subtle detail in the Deal ending - the slight golden tint to Joker's glasses when he smirks. The same gold that we've seen in the eyes of Shadows, the Palace owners. Almost as if to suggest that his deal turned the entire world into his Palace.
I don't know If they are In the same world as each other, but couldn't Makoto (P3) and Yu (P4) still have free will? They both possess the power of the wild card too If I'm not mistaken, though I don't know how they would fix what Joker did considering they don't have the Meta Nav, unless Lavenza gets Igor back somehow and asks for their help once more

My theory in Sojiro's reactions- Kamoshida & Madarame: Showed no remorse for you getting arrested Kaneshiro: Shocked for what kind of stunt, you've pulled Medjed: Outraged at the cops for the accusations on you, then changed to disbelief that he's getting arrested as well Okumura & Casino Palace: Showed actual disappointment
Yeah, up to Madarame he doesn't care for you at all, but he starts to see you as his own son as the game progresses, that's why his reaction is different.

Usually if there’s two similar options and one different option, either of the similar options are best in this game. So I kinda figured that same logic applied in this case. Even if I didn’t think about it like that, obviously a game about righteous thieves who are all close friends wouldn’t have you sell them out

I mean... shit, that Kaneshiro ending is HEAVY. It implies Makoto got kidnapped, forcefully given drugs, and raped multiple times, and despite being high as a kite, still recalls the guy who could've changed that, but didn't.
I have a theory that Makoto was forced into the prostitution industry to pay off the 3 million dept to Kaneshiro as opposed to her being kidnapped, the rest of your theory then applies

For me, the worst of it comes out of the first Palace failure. Not only is our bro Ryuji kicked out of school, that also means that ass Kamoshida gets to keep on preying on Ann, as well as being a prick to everybody! Man, that's harsh!

More like if the first scenario happened, Ann and ryuji would have lived badly and so does yosuke, morgana becomes a stray, hamburger dad still dies and haru gets married to that perv guy, makoto never really gets anything bad or good, because principle would never force to look for the phantom thieves

The way the only sounds are the coffee brewing and the clock creeps me out. If I'm really in a panic RL usually I start paying attention to all the meaningless little sounds too. It's in his head, but hyperventilating and being shot isn't much better either :P. Also, the final bad ending is pretty close to death note, perhaps creepier in a way..

So i finally had the privilege of partaking in this game. I just beat it a few days ago and felt kinda empty cause its now all over... no more Phantom Thieves adventures. But i was like "Hey im just gonna see the stuff i missed during my playthrough. Thats gonna be fun. I will start with watching the bad endings". WHAT WAS I THINKING?! These just made me more depressed. Kaneshiros bad ending is so twisted it makes me sick.
Highly recommend new game plusing it. There is literally no way you got the full emotional rollercoaster and trust me it will hit you hard. Sure you probably only maxed out Sojiro and the story based confidants, but maxing everyone out will turn you into a blubbering mess during the final boss fight. Also all your party members get a really cool powerup at max rank. New game plus it my dude. It is WORTH IT. Im currently on my 4-5th playthrough right now. Trying to plat the game lol
I think that last bad ending is the best one in any persona game. You literally make a deal with a mad god to keep living your own fantasy and pumping up your ego forever. Really fitting for the story.
Kamoshida, Kaneshiro, and Futaba endings are probably the most brutal in terms of your companions and the consequences before them, even Haru's since they revealed the disgusting nature of her arranged fiance.

These are just what Joker's mind produces as a fake memory since it cannot remember actually what happened later. Basically what Joker think that would most likely have happened. Most likely what he fears what could have happened. Bad news - in reality, you just fail to convince Sae to help you trick Akechi, who murders you.
I love how he scolds you and sounds sharper in Kamoshida's bad ending, but as it goes on, he ends up with a softer tone, and even actively asks "Don't you have the wrong guy?" as Joker's taken into custody. Even in the scenes most people'd never see, there's nice details like that.

Well yeah, it's pretty easy to forget that the reason you were granted the power of Persona was not to use it to change the hearts of rapist teachers, mafia bosses, and politicians, but rather to oppose the malevolent god who suppressed Igor, stole his identity, split Lavenza into Caroline & Justine, and has a stranglehold over all cognition, since it's never really even mildly addressed until just moments before you make the deal with the False Igor.

Yeah I almost got that one, lol. Thought I was supposed to be honest with Sae... But when the game gave me the chance to rethink I knew I wasn't supposed to do that. In hindsight it was a pretty stupid decision since all she promised me was to get me out of the death penalty.
I didn't...my first playthrough I accepted igors deal like an absolute idiot. Made me depressed bc I had put hours upon hours into the game and got a disappointing ending. I had to replay it. I just couldn't live with that ending

I don't know If they are In the same world as each other, but couldn't Makoto (P3) and Yu (P4) still have free will? They both possess the power of the wild card too If I'm not mistaken, though I don't know how they would fix what Joker did considering they don't have the Meta Nav, unless Lavenza gets Igor back somehow and asks for their help once more

Usually if there’s two similar options and one different option, either of the similar options are best in this game. So I kinda figured that same logic applied in this case. The way the only sounds are the coffee brewing and the clock creeps me out. If I'm really in a panic RL usually I start paying attention to all the meaningless little sounds too. It's in his head, but hyperventilating and being shot isn't much better either :P.

That's pretty much what it is. Instead of fighting and seeing his journey through to the end, he just makes a deal and takes the easy way out

So i finally had the privilege of partaking in this game. I just beat it a few days ago and felt kinda empty cause its now all over... no more Phantom Thieves adventures. But i was like "Hey im just gonna see the stuff i missed during my playthrough. Thats gonna be fun. I will start with watching the bad endings". WHAT WAS I THINKING?! These just made me more depressed. Kaneshiros bad ending is so twisted it makes me sick.

Highly recommend new game plusing it. There is literally no way you got the full emotional rollercoaster and trust me it will hit you hard. Sure you probably only maxed out Sojiro and the story based confidants, but maxing everyone out will turn you into a blubbering mess during the final boss fight. Also all your party members get a really cool powerup at max rank. New game plus it my dude. It is WORTH IT. Im currently on my 4-5th playthrough right now. Trying to plat the game lol

I think that last bad ending is the best one in any persona game. You literally make a deal with a mad god to keep living your own fantasy and pumping up your ego forever. Really fitting for the story.

I love how he scolds you and sounds sharper in Kamoshida's bad ending, but as it goes on, he ends up with a softer tone, and even actively asks "Don't you have the wrong guy?" as Joker's taken into custody. Even in the scenes most people'd never see, there's nice details like that.

Well yeah, it's pretty easy to forget that the reason you were granted the power of Persona was not to use it to change the hearts of rapist teachers, mafia bosses, and politicians, but rather to oppose the malevolent god who suppressed Igor, stole his identity, split Lavenza into Caroline & Justine, and has a stranglehold over all cognition, since it's never really even mildly addressed until just moments before you make the deal with the False Igor.
